Re: making DOM orders independant
Can you please let me know if anyone is planning on addressing this issue/bug? Not being able to submit independent orders is a problem and doesn't exist on other systems.....the user should be given a preference option to select that their orders are unaltered and independent of each other or as th...

Re: making DOM orders independant
Yes, many times....I appreciate your help but I'm pretty amazed this issue has never been addressed. 'First to Orders, then to Position' is set in Preferences. I've tried Brackets and Master Strategy. Does this function exist in MC? ie. allowing independent orders to exist and not affect the initial...

Re: making DOM orders independant
After changing the settings and trying everything I could think of, unfortunately this answer did not fix the issue. If a user has an EXISTING position via an open Bracket Order and chooses to add more contracts.....the MC DOM will not treat them as separate orders and instead, the existing stop and...

making DOM orders independant
Hello, I've inquired about this in the past but haven't been able to solve. When a user has an open (manual) bracket order in the the DOM...lets say short 10 at 2256, with a $3 pt Stop and a $6 pt Target.......if additional contracts are traded.....the DOM auto resets the Stop for the new size, and ...

Trade Performance report - Commisions
For Manual trading.... not for a Strategy (and not the Strategy Performance Report) ....but where can you add in commissions for the Trading Performance Report and adjust Initial Capital etc? I use TWS and when a Trading Performance Report is brought up, it only displays the settings.... but there's...

Stop issue
When an open order has a bracket attached, stop plus target(s)....and additional contracts are added to the position, the DOM auto changes the stop to reflect the new position size and adjusts the price of the stop to account for the new average price. Is there a way to disable the feature but still...

stock data interactive brokers
I usually just trade futures, I've never had a stock on my scanner. I'm subscribed for quotes on IB but if I open a new multicharts chart window, its says No Data.
Tried adding symbols and exchanges etc., nothing seems to work.
Can anyone suggest a fix?
Thanks

Got it, makes sense....the text is messy with it but I understand that it has nothing to do with Multicharts.
Thanks

[FAQ] SMS Alert (Text message)
I sent a 'feature request' a while ago but, I wanted to see if I could gauge support for it. Currently alerts are sent via email, its very easy for iphone users who do not have push email to miss or at least not see the alert in a timely fashion during trading hours, constantly refreshing from the e...

Re: custom fututes, rollover code and alert questions [SOLVED]
I see your point but when I think about it, my initial question wasn't accurate, adding the individual contract doesn't actually solve the problem. What I'm really trying to get to is....how can I alert on a contract high/low since rollover ?....so it's actually not the contract high/low....its the ...

custom fututes, rollover code and alert questions [SOLVED]
question #1, I have created custom futures for most products but the currencies (in this case Canadian dollar) don't seem to be listed in the custom futures root symbol list (IB = data provider). I can add the required months to the symbol list but when you go to 'add custom future', there's no root...

Re: whats wrong here, easy language [SOLVED]
What is your chart resolution? I was looking at a standard multicharts 1 day chart (each bar is one day going back 90 days)....in this case a custom future of wheat What is wrong? What is your result? What is your observation? whats wrong is that its set to alert if the comparison is true, so if the...

ok, i give....can someone explain why this doesn't work and tell me what will actually work? so, I'm trying to compare the close of 30 days ago to the last 29 closes....eg. if close[30] < lowest(close,29)[1] then.... I thought this statement would be true if the close of 30 days ago..... was lower t...

Thanks to both of you, very good idea to have the EL debugging FAQ, think it would be great to be able to go to that for references and just helps to learn to 'think' like a programmer a little more....seems like if you know how to debug, you know programming in a sense. Thanks again bowlesj3 and TJ...

The alert that is generated for ZWK2 (May Wheat, IB feed) looks like this... 5/15/2012 10:48:50 PM Source: rbn2 Instrument: ZW MAY 12 Resolution: 1 Day Price: 604.00 Message: 40 d close 672.00 The alert says 'Price: 604.00', which should show the Highest Close of the past 40 days, from 1 bar prior (...

Re: powerlanguage
I had posted a question about powerlanguage and received a response but the example didn't seem to work so I figured I'd post the code to see what the problem is... If barstatus = 2 then begin if close > Highest(close,40)[1] then alert (text("C H prev 40", highest(close,40))); alert (text("40 d clos...

Re: easylanguage question
Thank you for the help.
Just double checking, the close > close[20]....does that only compare the 20th bar to the current close or does it compare each of the previous 20 bars?
thanks again.

easylanguage question
wanted to run an indicator that compares the close to the previous 20 closes...can I use... if close > close(close,20) then...?
the indicator compiles but I cant tell if its working.
I'm new to easylanguage and multicharts so I'm unable to get a backtesting optimization working properly.
Thanks
