File size limit of Quote Manager export file? [SOLVED]
Is there a size limit for the Quote Manager export file? I regularly get an error message "unable to write temporary file" when trying to save all instruments including data. The last successfully created export file is 3.3 GB in size, so I wonder if there is an issue when the file exceeds a specifi...

Re: Frequent IB pacing violations - is this expected behavio
How many charts (symbols times resolutions) do you open at start? The rules for pacing violation is very specific. The application is merciless: if you exceeded the request, you get time out. There are thousands of users around the world, IB's server does not know any better. They don't single you ...

I thought there was an option to save (or not save) the data in the database (can't find it on the wiki). Judging from your description, might you have turned that option off? Josh, I think you are referring to "Utilization of cache for real-time price data" in the QM Data Feed settings? This optio...

Martin,
Thanks for your reply, of course I'm aware of the IB historical data limitations. I just wonder if MC could adopt the frequency of its data requests to these limitations, in case IB is selected as data provider.

Frequent IB pacing violations - is this expected behavior?
Ever since I use MC together with IB as broker and data provider, I get hundreds of Historical Market Data pacing violations when I launch MC. I do not use anything else than minute bar charts (mainly CME Futures and Forex), around 30 symbols in total, and do not use any studies that requests tick o...

Re: Custom Futures - no appropriate rollover setting for GC
That did the trick, thanks.Gold traders usually only rollover 5 times a year using the feb, april, june, august and dec
contracts.
So you may could uncheck the oct (V) contract at "Select contracts to Use" as the oct contract does not play a role in gold, then it should roll directly from Q to Z.

Custom Futures - no appropriate rollover setting for GC
As the GC Gold Futures contract is somewhat special since the highest volume is not consistently at the leading month or at the second/third/etc. month, it is not possible for me to generate a continuous futures symbol for GC that is consistently based on the contract month with the highest volume. ...

I often have 30 charts on my multiple screens, with no problem. What kind of computer do you have? (What CPU?) How much memory? How much back data do you have on your charts? Chart dragging gets deactivated in some special setups [SOLVED]
I post this here because the Project Management Module drives me crazy (when I try to edit the text in PM, the changes cannot be saved). May it this issue is connected to your settings for IB here : http://ubuntuone.com/420RXRXxJxzKFz0WN79Fa1 Other issue could be you have a scanner window open with symbols set up with "tick"-resolution. Re: Quote Manager requests tick data even when not required [SOLVED]
I still wonder what is causing this issue. After the Tick data for this 10 minutes period has been downloaded, it will start to request ...

Quote Manager requests tick data even when not required [SOLVED]
I noticed that in some cases Quote Manager will request "tick data" from IB data feed - which is not real tick data as we all know - for creating charts with much lower time resolution (e.g. Minute bars / hour bars), which will result in data request pacing violations. In the example attached, EUR.J...

I wonder if drawings can be locked by EL code, instead of using the chart window's context menu. I wonder if there is an option to extract price data at a specific time "between" the bar intervals. Re: Allocate dedicated reserved word for horizontal lines
Thanks for your answer. You were totally right, the problem was that the code plotted many lines on top of each other. As suggested, I've added two counters to prevent this: input: lock_limit_up(10), lock_limit_down(-10), settlement_time(1430); var: {intrabarpersist} count_1(0), {intrabarpersist} co...
