Re: MC8 Chart Trading - PNL and Stock purchase problem?
Hello Kasper, Have you setup the symbol mapping IQFeed to iB ? Are you able to see the ask and bid prices on the manual trading panel of the chart ? 1. Yes I was able to see the ask and bid on the manual trade panel 2. Yes - Symbol mapping was in place - BUT - I edited the symbol map - with 0 chang...

MC8 Chart Trading - PNL and Stock purchase problem?
Hi, i'm messing around with MC8/32 with some chart trading. Setup with IQ Feed for quotes and IAB as broker on a live account via TWS. Windows 2008R2 with 24 GB memory. 1. I place order for XX amount of AAPL shares - gets executed fine. Works fine for a bit then PNL display starts to "play up" and s...

it was more to get a generic function - not just for a single code. So when you hit backtest - you can select the date ranges your would like to test on. and/or do comparative testing - so test how things work in different market states. So no - cant just do it in a code - should be a generic form. ...

Backtest feature request
Markets move up and markets move down :-) sometime fast - and sometimes slow. But I would love to be able to set some pre-defined time periods to back test on. So fx. define date intervals on which to run back test So when doing back testing - you can tick of multiple time lines. Fx. Dot com crash C...

Just wanted to point to a few very good articles / speed tests on the i7 platform. the hyperthread/turbo mode is not black and white.. :-0 ixbtlabs.com/articles3/cpu/archspeed-2009-3-p1.html (all the articles in the series are actually quite good) and is very application dependent in the Core i7 tes...

To answer your question above regarding turbo mode, no, disabling turbo mode on an I7 does not increase or decrease MultiCharts performance per se. You have to bear in mind, turbo mode is designed to temporarily bump up the speed on one or two cores on a four core chip without overheating (in other...

to compare processor specs - check here ark.intel.com/Default.aspx there you can see all processors from Core i7 920, 940, 950, 960, 965 Extreme and 975 Extreme - all have the same specs apart from - they have different frequencies and: 965 and 975 that have a faster QT bandwidth - but that is ONLY ...

Suppose everything else being equal[/u] (i.e. Price, Clock Frequencies, Cash sizes, pwr consumption, essentially - same generation CPUs). What do you think? What's your choice? I would ALWAYS take the one that have a hyper- threading possibility - if rest of specs was the same. HT you can ALWAYS di...

This depends on what you mean I suppose by "reliable". Intel's usual testing process has been to test every chip until it fails, increasing the frequencies within a period of time, then back off and stamp it with a fairly generous safety margin from its only known failure point. hmm - first of all ...

but why the sudden performance increase - was it due to TURBO mode on the i7 or quad cores? I think that because Core i7 965 is not just Quad core CPU, but also a multi-threaded (aka Hyper threading by intel classification). That effectively makes the OS to see it, (and use it) as 8 "Cores" process...

Yes i know the i9 processor with 6 cores are coming - even a few ES (Engineering samples) on ebay. But a i920 is basically a i 975/965 that could not pass complete testing. Every processor Intel makes for i1366 sockets - starts out as i975 - then get dumped to i965 if they cant pass all the tests - ...

hmm - A core i7 3.2GHz must be a Intel Core i7 965 Extreme. but why the sudden performance increase - was it due to TURBO mode on the i7 or quad cores? anyway - i'm bidding on a I7 975 3.3GHz Extreme for development :-) at the moment.. But most people can happily go with a i7 920 and push the clock ...

This beta 2 have the same problem when reloading a chart/data like MC 4 had (I don't remember if this also happened in version 5.5). Apparently, this morning my internet connection went down, since I had a 3 hours hole in my charts and the DRM warning when I arrived home. I hit Ctrl+R to reload the...

A dongle can be a problem. There are "public" dongle formats out there - the musicinstrument software industry uses "standard" ILOK dongles where MULTIPLE software can be activated in. If the dongle was one of the standard ones - where you can "buy" the dongle in ANY musicinstrument shop - then i'm ...

DDE in Easy Language
Hi, is there any way to get DDE to work in EasyLanguage? I would like to plot company specific news on some of the graphs and it would be quite easy to pick them up via DDE from both IQ Feeed, eSignal or QuoteTracker DDE api. I have searched the documentation - but can't seem to find any DDE referen...
