Continuous Contracts and IB [SOLVED]
Hi: I am closing down my TS Account at the end of the month and I have downloaded all the historical data that I need in 1M formats for the instruments that I use. I have an active IB account so I can get the new data easily enough. The data in TS is for a continuous contract using there @ESH17 symb...

How many to buy?
I have searched and don't think I have found a very good solution for this. We have a master portfolio that is trading real time at a different broker in a substantial account. Lets call that program our Pool. Now I have a new client that wants to trade a similar risk reward profile in his account o...

CQG
What is the status of 8.5 with CQG? As a CTA I need this capability to keep MC in the loop. WE need this to trade at other brokers and it is presently costing big bucks doing "give ups" to trade at other brokers.
Thanks

Thanks, I will try that. I was doing something similar but I think I was using too small of a time period.

day trading times for various commocities
I have been trading the emini's since 2004 and have a good idea on what the day times I should use. Although the closing times were changed recently, still the 8:30 to 3:15 continue to work well. I would like to add additional commodities to review and study but don't want to trade in "off hours". D...

Win8 -- Can't compile programs
I am in the process of setting up a new computer and have done this a number of times. This is the first time with Windows 8. I have MC 8.0 working with Windows 8 with no issues on the chart side and data side. I then imported a number of studies and indicators that I have been using in both TS and ...

Re: TS as MC Data Provider
OK, here is the idea. I have been using TS with MC for over two years and from time to time there are glitches that are not repeatable. Drives MC in Russia crazy. I have finally managed to get a robust set up and this is how it works. 1. Once a week (if you day trade maybe you want to do this more o...

I have demonstrated this affect to your team a number of times. The next time it happens, who should I speak to when I go into the live chat?

Re: Missing Data [SOLVED]
TO: For the past week, by not opening up TS, and not saving the historical data, I have not had any issues withing MC. I just don't open TS (the platform) if at all unless I need to check something. One thing that I found is that if you are still logged into TS from MC from a previous time period, y...

Re: Missing Data [SOLVED]
Solved the issue, but deleting all the data, and not opening TS prior to opening MC. Now the data loads perfectly after I get the sign on from TS. I have changed my trading platform to only keep data for 2012, so I won't need to keep historical data. Thanks for the help. I may have to do something w...

Missing Data [SOLVED]
I use TS as my data provider and then use MC to automate my trades through Rithmic. Everytime I delete all the TS data in the cache and storage, and then delete all the cache data and other data in the Quote manager, when I re-make the chart, MC always misses some days. The problem is that I have to...

Re: using walk forward test results
I have just started WF analysis in 8.0 and I have a couple of suggestions. 1. Allow an equity curve to be plotted for each OS of the report as you flip through the tests. 2. Highlight what the system thinks is the "best" value depending upon the fitness used. So if Net Profit is used, what run and s...

I have to expand my CTA with trading at RJ Obrien. Are their any issues using Multicharts interface to Pat Systems. I already do this with Rithmic, and use TS for my data. I am planning on doing the same again, but just wanted to make sure it was a similar installation.
Thanks

OK, with the demise of MF Global it has brought to the front burner the idea of having a backup plan to one's current methodology of trading. Re: Interfacing MC to Trading Technologies
I didn't and went directly with TS, but this brings up the point of having a back up to TS now. What brokers and what data services are easy to incorporate with MC to trade the E mini's and also some currencies (not Forex), metals, and oil. I desire to diversify my CTA/CPO business away from one bro...

OK, I need a suggestion from the programming "guru's". I want to incorporate positive dependency into my strategy. I am a new user to MC but a long time TS user. I am using my TS for the data feed for both historical and real time data. I followed the tutorial for getting the @ES.D data from 7/1/04 to today on a 3 minute chart. that went fine, but it took a long time. No big deal. Now I then wanted to add anothe...
