Re: 8.8 upgrade breaks my portfolio backtesting...
What are the benefits of this new restriction? Other than deliberately breaking our prior work I see no benefits or rationale for this. We spend a lot of time getting our sessions just right (matching the data feed times to the multicharts interpretation is actually harder than you think) and now we...

8.8 upgrade breaks my portfolio backtesting...
8.7 portfolio backtesting runs fine. In 8.8, it complains about time zones "Instruments from different time zones cannot be mixed". What changed in 8.8 that this message is now being produced? Only Data 1 is being used but obviously in a portfolio, each data1 instrument might be located in a differe...

Re: CSIData - Futures
Hi TJ et-al: I did add the symbol through there. But the continuous symbols such as "@BAC" aren't part of CSIData's repository - they are part of the Multicharts' built-in symbol for the provider it seems. In fact, CSI has it's own symbology for building the continuous symbols for MC doesn't recogni...

CSIData - Futures
Hi: When connecting to CSIdata for Futures, it looks like MC has it's own rules for the continuous contracts (eg: @BAC, @ES). The problem is that I have no idea what those rules are - for many roots, there are GAPS on the "@" symbols. Can you please let me know what the rules are and if possible, ho...

CSIData [SOLVED]
Trying MC again - this time with CSIData as the historical data source. But, I can't seem to figure out how to get the quote manager to retrieve the FOREX symbols from the CSIDATA software. Initially I thought maybe I was entering the wrong symbol but I tried to retrieve a stock symbol "C" and MC co...

Re: Easy Language Bug
Hi Moses:
Thanks for the response. Do you remember when you posted this to the TS Forums? It is currently not a bug in TS 9.1 - only in Multicharts as far as I can tell.
Thanks.

[portfolio] EasyLanguage Bug
Ok, so, it turns out if a numeric INPUT variable is embedded between input variables that are strings, multicharts never uses the user provided input during portfolio analysis and always uses the default value. Take a look at the code below - it should always buy the number of contracts that the use...

Re: Bloomberg is no longer working in 6.0 final
Dave: TS did not promise users that they would get all future functionality for free. And, even if they did, why would you want to follow in their footsteps and backtrack on your word? You marketed your company and the product as being better. Instead, it turns out that you are going down a road tha...

Re: Bloomberg is no longer working in 6.0 final
Hi Tresor: It's really great of you to try to offer up a solution to managment to deal with this issue. But, truth be told, personally, I have no need right now for the bloomberg datafeed. I am primarily concerned with the precedent being set. For example, who's to say that in the next version, Port...

Re: Bloomberg is no longer working in 6.0 final
Dave: You are hiding behind the "fine print" and completely missing my point. What your users expect as they move from version to version is NEW features, not removal of existing features simply because you feel you can make more money by removing them. Yes, you are correct in that we are subjected ...

Re: Bloomberg is no longer working in 6.0 final
To TSSupport: The users that purchased the lifetime license of MC with supposed free upgrades did so with the the understanding that features would be added, not removed. By removing the Bloomberg option and making it available for a higher price - that's slimy and downright unethical. I don't care ...

Potential Bug - MC Beta3: Optimization reports VS Backtest
Hi: In portfolio backtester, the figures returned in an optimization report does not match that on the backtest report for the same parameters. This was not a problem in BETA 2. I have tried on multiple strategies and it's the same on everything i've tried. Anyone else see this issue? Thanks. -eLindy
