I've had so many problems in the past when I up grade to leter version, that I'm holding out form as long as possible.


I am using range bars and not time based bars and you're right, when I run on time based bars, there is no problem.

Can anyone help me with the display of strategy problem as shown on the attached chart. This is a relatively simple breakout strategy, with a profit target, trailing stop and initial stop. Somehow MC is calculating and displaying exits that can not possibly occur based on the chart prices. Any clues??

TJ I've tried re-installing twice now and the same error comes up - but only on all of my strategies and indicators, not on any of the pre-packaged ones. Still no change to the daily shut down by IB.

At least they are consistent - consistently awful, that is; it shuts down every night at 10pm PST. I just have to make sure I'm at a computer evry night at ten, just to immediately re-launch.

Well I tried setting the time delay to 600 seconds and even further as someone suggested in another post to 86,400 seconds; but still IB shuts down each evening. Very frustrating - I'm trading the currency futures and to have IB shut down at approx the time of the European markets opening is crazy. ...

Thanks Bomber - I worked around it by inserting specific sell and buytocover orders in my code - i cannot use setpercenttrailing.

Regarding the initial problem of IB disconnecting every night - I'm just wondering if any or all of the other data suppliers, also do the same thing. Does anybody know if this is a problem specific to I.

Yes - its the same in real trading. At midnight every night the connection between MC and IB is lost. It makes automated trading on currency futures and many others virtually impossible.
