Re: MULTICHARTS 8.7 RELEASE
I plot the NYSE-TICK (USD Index from InteractiveBrokers). I use a simple 1 minute bar chart with a 1 period moving average. It worked fine in Beta 2 but does not plot in the Release. It loads but does not update. The data updates in the Status Line on the chart but the bars remain unchanged. I've r...

Rithmic Continuous Futures
Rithmic provides their own version of continuous futures so that we should not need to use Multichart's Custom Futures feature (if Rithmic's linking method is all we need). However, I cannot get MC 7.4 to recognize the symbol "ES.CME". That is the symbol that Rithmic support provided to me for the E...

JackR, What aspects of connection video guides do you consider incomplete? Henry: I have been connected for quite some time and those videos were not available when I first started using MC so I've never looked at them before. I did a quick scan of them and they basically seem to cover Quote Manage...

Re: MultiCharts 7.4 Printer-friendly Manual (.PDF format)
Dave: So will the Wiki be released concurrent with the MC 8 public beta? Or will the available documentation remain at the 5.5 level? It is difficult to recommend a very expensive software tool when you have to tell people that the documentation is obsolete in many instances, flat wrong in others, a...

Re: MultiCharts 7.4 Printer-friendly Manual (.PDF format)
My current plan is to stop by the MultiCharts booth at the NY Trader's Expo and ask about the documentation. I'll ask some friends to stop by and ask as well. Simple questions like " It looks like a great product, but I was told your user manual and help file are from Version 5 and are way out of da...

Re: Teaser for the upcoming release
To load 64 million ticks, how much RAM did you need? By looking at the screen shot I estimate as follows: About 5.2 gig of virtual memory being used for the entire program. I'm not familiar with the SysInternals tools, but it appears that all the programs running are using in excess of 94% of physi...

Trader N: I primarily use Interactive Brokers and have a backup account at Infinity, a Transact subsidiuary. I'd love to be able to connect to both via MC. I spoke with Transact/Infinity about a week ago. Transacts's web site shows MC as an option. However, when I asked about it I was told the Trans...

Re: Workable IB TWS for MC 7 / MC 6
I'm running TWS 918.9 (latest downloadable from IB as of 15 Sep 2011) and MC7. They work together. HOWEVER , I have not tried to use the new discretionary trading features (DOM) as Multicharts hasn't gotten around to documenting them. The videos are incomplete. I don't like to use on-line help as it...

MC 7 - New Help Included? - Videos?
At some time during the beta process a question was asked about updating the embedded Help file which dates from MC5.5. We were told via this Forum (Stan Bokov) that MC was trying to get the Help updated but that a series of videos would be available with the release. I did a search for "DOM" and a ...

Re: MC7: Custom signals can't be added to a chart
I'd temporarily uninstall Comodo and see what happens. Just disconnect from the Internet if you are concerned about virus problems. You will have to reconnect to test once you've uninstalled as MC has a protection scheme that checks the validity of your license on line. If it works at least you'll h...

Re: MULTICHARTS 7 BETA 1 RELEASE
I use IB as my datafeed. Under MC 6.0 I've made Custom Futures based on the eSignal Symbol Directory.
If I install MC 7 I assume it will overwrite MC 6. Is this the way I should install MC 7 - just run it?
What will happen to my Custom Futures?
My collected data history?

Hi - I am switching from iQ feed to IB data, sacrificing tick data to save the 165/month. Misha: Looks like TJ answered your question. Remember that MC has the capability to import data in ASCII format. If there is some historical data that you use from iQ (or can can still retrieve) that goes back...

I'm an IB customer and am happy with them. They have their quirks. I primarily trade futures. I do not trade forex and have no experience in that area.. I can tell you that IB is a true forex broker. They make their money in commissions, not from trading against you. They run an ECN and have a numbe...
