Hi
I followed all the steps that you have mentioned and eventually the data came through, but there was a really long lag, 1-2 hours, at first I thought the market might not yet be open, but i checked that it was definitely open.

Best broker for automated FX trading
Who is the best broker for FX trading? I have been using IB for some time, but they just seem to disconnect far too often leaving many orders unfilled and generally causing a lot of problems. I'm looking for the broker with the least amount of disconnects as well as very tight spreads, any suggestio...

Re: order and position tracker
thanks, but what does it mean practically if it says false?
How is it possible that you are long/short in multicharts and long/short with your broker, say IB, but its says false?
Is it an error?
If you were currently long but had a sell order would this be "false"

What does it mean when it says "false" for position matching?
Where in the mc documentation is the order and position tracker discussed in detail?

Re: backtesting settings
thanks for the reply. i think you have a product with potential here, its just that if your whole edge is the fact that you make automated trading easier, then you need to have significant documentation to explain your software. most of the people buying mc are not computer programmers or IT people,...

Re: reliability of interactive brokers?
thanks for the info tj. the charting problems don't bother me that much. for the system i'm looking to trade, execution (ie minimal slippage) and transaction costs are absolutely critical so if there is another broker out there with spreads to match IB then i would use them, but that doesn't seem to...

reliability of interactive brokers?
i'm considering using IB as my broker but i've heard some worrying things about them. Number one being that they shut down intermittently during the night to perform "system maintenance" and any orders will not go through. Also that stop orders are often missed. Yesterday while on their website, the...
