Re: TS as MC Data Provider
This is interesting because my experience has been quite different. I have had many problems with gaps in the data when using TS data. This is covered in at least one thread recently: https://www.multicharts.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11346&hilit=missing+data Henry actually recommended that ...

There are great ideas, and their implementation will greatly improve the scanner. I hope MC listens to these excellent suggestions.

Re: Missing Data [SOLVED]
I am also using the 64 bit version. My MC and TS were connected non stop since before yesterday's open. So, needless to say all of the data from yesterday's session was there. Then I closed one workspace and the reopened it. I didn't do anything with TS at all. When I reopened the workspace all char...

Re: Missing Data [SOLVED]
I thought that approach solved the problem but it doesn't seem to have after all. I have unchecked "save data to local database". Today when I shut down a workspace that had data for Nov 27, 28 and 29th and the reopend it all data for Nov 28th was gone. Any suggestions here? I am not sure this issue...

Rounding in PL / EL [SOLVED]
Hello, I was hoping someone would be kind enough to help show me how to round a value to the lowest 1, 10, 100, or 1000, in Easy Language. For example, value if Value1 = 2357.67, then: The rounding to the lowest 1 would be 2357, to the lowest 10 would be 2350, to the lowest 100 would be 2300 and low...

Re: MULTICHARTS 8.5 BETA 1 – WHAT’S NEW
In the 32 bit version I can't open PL Editor from within MC via File -> Power Language Editor. This used to work fine in the previous version. Did anyone else notice that? It opens fine when I directly open it via it's own shortcut on the desktop. Thank you, ABC Same thing happened to me on the 64 ...

I have left this feature request here: https://www.multicharts.com/pm/viewissue.php?issue_no=MC-1178 If you would like to be able to minimize the amount of intraday data you load by using a consistent number of bars back, then please consider voting for this request. Here's an example of why this is...

Re: Bars Back Question
Thank you for the explanation. Although, I don't like the answer. Isn't there some logic MC can add to avoid overloading the data feed, rather than just setting this arbirary limit? For example, "if there is insufficient historic data to meet the user's request do not send repetitive requests...". B...

Re: MULTICHARTS 8.5 BETA 1 – WHAT’S NEW
I did send the report.
I just experienced a total MC freeze and had to force a shut down. I had 5 workspaces open each WS contained 4 charts all with autotrading turned on. This is a common set up for me and until 8.5, I never had a freeze, or crash for that matter.

I had the exact problem recently. Henry's solution resolved the problem.
But, the bigger question is, why does selecting "save data to local database" cause data to go missing?

I am interested in the following new feature: Timeout can now be specified manually in the broker profile for Interactive Brokers. Re: Bars Back Question
I have answered my own question, only to find another one. The reason there weren't trades showing up when I was using 60 minutes bars is because although I have the instrument set up to load 2000 bars, it is actually only loading 441 bars. When I switch the resolution to 1 minute is loads 2000 bars...

I have a chart loaded with 2000 bars back using 1 minute bars. There are plenty of trades shown on the chart. When I change the resolution to 60 minutes there aren't any trades generated - I have to load much more data for the trades to show up. My question is, why should the resolution change the n...

Thank you, SP, for this. Do I have to specify the account number? I would prefer to keep it generic so that I can use the code on various different accounts. Re: Slow Backfilling [SOLVED]
Henry,
Is there a way to then save the historic data so on subsequent re-openings of the charts in MC that it will be quicker. Even though your suggestion allowed the backfill to speed up, it is still taking 20 minutes to load 6 equity charts, which still seems very long to me.
Thanks.

Slow Backfilling [SOLVED]
Hello, I am using TS data and find that the backfilling of data can be painfully slow. Incidentally, it was the same when I used IB data. Re: Serious Order Status Problem with IB's API
The way MC currently deals with this issue quite frankly is irresponsible. This problem will lead to serious losses for traders if it is not fixed. It's encouraging though to hear that MC has acknowledged the issue and has committed to dealing with it with a timeout. The resubmission of orders when ...

Serious Order Status Problem with IB's API
I have been testing MC to IB trade automation for the past month. Approximately, once per week for the past three weeks I have encountered a problem where IB did not return the final status of an order in a timely fashion. Because of this, MC thinks the order is lost so it resubmits the order. This ...
