Re: Quote Manager requests tick data even when not required [SOLVED]

Seneca, Do you use a 10 minute chart to replicate this behavior? How long do you usually wait between all MC processes are finished and you start MC again to replicate this behavior? No, I use mainly 15 minute charts and 30 minute charts, I do not use 10 minute charts at all. This behavior occurs e...

Re: Quote Manager requests tick data even when not required [SOLVED]

May it this issue is connected to your settings for IB here : http://ubuntuone.com/420RXRXxJxzKFz0WN79Fa1 Other issue could be you have a scanner window open with symbols set up with "tick"-resolution. MC will have an answer ... :) There must be another reason. I tried this setting (see attachment)...

Re: Quote Manager requests tick data even when not required [SOLVED]

I still wonder what is causing this issue. The strange thing is that on startup, Quote Manager will initially request "Tick" data for the last 10 minutes for each symbol, regardless of the chart resolution. After the Tick data for this 10 minutes period has been downloaded, it will start to request ...

Re: Quote Manager requests tick data even when not required [SOLVED]

I had once a similar problem. There was an hidden charts that was loaded. On your tool bar, select Window. Look if you have only one workspace in the list. If not, that could be the problem. Martin No, this is not the case at my end. There are no "hidden" charts. So there must be another reason for...

Re: Quote Manager requests tick data even when not required [SOLVED]

Hello Henry, 1) MC version is 8.7 Build 7472 2) TWS version is 932.4 standalone The issue seems not being connected to a certain MC or TWS version and occurs on older versions of MC and older and newer versions of TWS as well. 3) I can reproduce it on a constantly basis. Even when I create a new wor...

Re: IB Gateway issues

Everything will be fine and after while "historical data farm" will change to status yellow and I will stop getting live data. I had exactly the same issue with IB Gateway and IB data feed about one week ago. I have sent tons of logs to IB, but they did not find anything. Then, without changing any...

Quote Manager requests tick data even when not required [SOLVED]

I noticed that in some cases Quote Manager will request "tick data" from IB data feed - which is not real tick data as we all know - for creating charts with much lower time resolution (e.g. Minute bars / hour bars), which will result in data request pacing violations. In the example attached, EUR.J...

Re: MULTICHARTS 8.7 BETA 2

I've been applying some equidistant channels and something looks off. Is this an optic illusion or indeed the equidistant channels is not that equidistant? See the video. See how an uprising channel shows the far right channel (channel's end) a little more narrow than the start while on a downside ...

Re: Suggestions, annoyances, small bugs

I use two "Order and Position Tracker" windows and noticed that sometimes positions appear only in one "Open Position" tab and not in the other. Background: I have set up a dedicated "Order and Position" workspace, but in order to permanently see the actual position when I switch to other workspaces...

Re: Excessive memory consumption of MC64 with IB Gateway

Henry, this behaviour is replicated every time I run Multicharts with IB Gateway. Unfortunately, deactivating “Utilization of cache for real-time price data” and restarting all processes as suggested does not help. Behaviour with previous MC versions is the same. I do not run TWS / Gateway versions ...

Excessive memory consumption of MC64 with IB Gateway

When I run MC64 with some charts of IB "tick" data and IB Gateway for some hours, I notice a massive memory consumption of MC64, please see the attachment (luckily, I have plenty of RAM on my end....). Further, IB Gateway will successively open several client tabs. With IB TWS, memory consumption is...

Lock drawing in EL?

I wonder if drawings can be locked by EL code, instead of using the chart window's context menu. For example, I use the following code (which I've found in Project Management) to display a horizontal price line which updates on each tick: vars: intrabarpersist need_delete_this_bar(false); if lastbar...

Re: Extract price data at specific time

Hi TJ, Thanks for your reply. In principle, this should work, but since I generally base my charts on exchange time instead of computer time, I would prefer if there would be something like "CURRENT_EXCHANGE_TIME", but I think there isn't? Of course you can do the math and convert the time, but sinc...

Extract price data at specific time

I wonder if there is an option to extract price data at a specific time "between" the bar intervals. For example, I want to extract the settlement price of LE at CME, which is being determined once a day at 13:00 (Exchange time). If I use a 15 minutes bar chart, I will have on the Monday session 12:...

Re: Allocate dedicated reserved word for horizontal lines

Thanks for your answer. You were totally right, the problem was that the code plotted many lines on top of each other. As suggested, I've added two counters to prevent this: input: lock_limit_up(10), lock_limit_down(-10), settlement_time(1430); var: {intrabarpersist} count_1(0), {intrabarpersist} co...

Just in case that the issue has not been resolved yet - I can get VIX historical data (several months of minute data) via TWS with the setting as displayed in the image below. Exchange is CFE. Hope this helps.

Allocate dedicated reserved word for horizontal lines

Hello there, since I want to automatically calculate and display the lock limits defined for some futures contracts (e.g. commodity futures at CME), I use "tl_new" to calculate and display those lock limits (generic example): input: lock_limit_up(10), lock_limit_down(-10), settlement_time(1430); var...
