It looks like both charts have a different starting bar and thus making them have a different starting price. Try using the exact same starting price on both charts and they should mirror each other.

From my experience it is common amongst DOMs to enter Stop buy orders if you click above the best offer, and limit orders if you click at or below the best offer. The better order entry platforms allow you to change it from a stop to a stop limit.

I would not advise doing any intraday volume analysis with IB data, especially anything at the tick level. IB data is snapshots and not ticks. There is also a large discrepancy between real-time intraday data and historical data.

Its possible the results are different because you applied their vwap on something other than a 1 tick chart. The true vwap for the day is calculated from a 1 tick chart. The nearer you get to the end of the day, the closer a different chart (such as a 1min) will be to a 1 tick chart VWAP -- in most...

Be careful using volume with real-time IB data - it is grossly inaccurate. While all real-time feeds have differences between their real-time volume data and historical volume data - IB is the worst of the bunch.

This bug persists with your latest "stable" release of version 9. Running both IB TWS and esignal for data. Your logscollector tool still crashes when trying to FTP the file.

Starting to think this problem is limited to situations when connected to data services. The few times I've run MC.net today in offline mode, tsserver.exe has terminated shortly after shutting down MC.net64

Just windows defender. No issue with prior version of MC.net64, but version 9 leaves this process hanging nearly every time after exiting the program.

The instruments I have been watching this on are Hang Seng Futures and H-Shares Futures.

The problem is intermittent. I'll manually FTP upload the logs if you can PM me access. Your logscollector program just crashes every time.

Edit: tsserver remains again today, have 2 log file archives now. Logscollector program crashes again.

Your logs collector crashes with a stacktrace. I have the logs in a 16mb archive but I do not have any filehosting services.

OK, I didn't even try my code without lastbaronchart but in my case on MC.net64 9.0 RC1 with tick charts it is sometimes firing and sometimes not. There is a real problem there somewhere. I'll try your suggestion tomorrow - thank you.

Does "update on every tick" really do that?

When creating an indicator that is tick precise and having "update on every tick" enabled in your indicator properties. Will it call calcbar() on every tick with historical data? My impression so far is that this may not be the case despite the help implying that this should be the case.

If I didn't need it to line up then I'd just a 1 tick stream as the main data source and there would be no questions. From the example, it is not clear to me why you would use an array of WaitHandles and call WaitAny() rather than just a single WaitHandle and call WaitOne() ?

OK - then I have a problem with it.

I have some ASCII mapped created symbols that do not update when I load the chart despite their corresponding CSV file having updated data. The only way I can get the updated to show is manually import the data through the quotemanager again for all the symbols.

The last price on the daily chart matches the TWS. It will move up and down with the last price throughout the day but it will not plot a proper OHLC bar. Session definitions do not have a date and it probably makes no sense for a session to have a date. Session is a template for trading days, but not trading days them self. I hope that makes sense. To get a trading date, you just use Bars.Time[0]

In SC I can't get the data feed's time stamp that easily... So this gives me the data feed's "bar open" time stamp down to seconds resolutions. And to extract milliseconds from that stamp I do this? The bars timestamp in MC.net is the bar close time. This is common amongst most other platforms too....

I still think it would be a useful draw style addition. Many charting applications provide it. Forcing the programmer to jump through hoops on this just adds complexity to your platform and does nothing to make the application easy to use and expand the user base.

I wouldn't call what I'm asking about to be "hedging". It is just controlling which exit is matched to the CurrentPosition.OpenTrades entries. You are saying this is beyond my (the programmers) control?

Not sure what you mean....

- open workspaces
- manually slide the price scale so that it is the range I want it to be
- hit ctrl-s
- close down MC.net and reopen those workspaces - the price scales have reverted back to automatic

Open up your format instrument settings and on the "Scaling" tab there is a check box that is on by default. Uncheck "Expand Scale to Indicators" and you should be fine.
