Re: PAL EL system code for Multicharts
I gave up trying to develop systems with PAL and another program about 3 years ago but after doing some research and reading the book by Michael Harris (Fooled by technical analysis) I realized some mistakes in my process. PAL works well and code for EL was updated recently. Certainly worth upgradin...

Does this version offer full EL compatibility? I'm thinking of trying again to build some autotrading systems but EL is all I know.

Re: EL generation software
I am developing now systems to evaluate using both Price Action Lab and Adaptrade. These are very different products but both generate EL code. I find the idea very useful and can cut down development time by some considerable factor.

If I understand correctly, a wash trade is a simultaneous buy a sell. What about if on Monday I go long MSFT and on Thursday I go short and I want to keep both trades in different accounts? Is that illegal? Potentially I can profit from both trades depending on price changes.

Re: EL generation software
Thanks you for your input! I did not know about the books but I found about the blog Michael Harris maintains and it is very helpful in explaining the nuisances of trading system development. As far as the other program you mentioned I have tried that not long ago and also a couple more based on the...

Re: Signal Entering One Bar Too Late? [SOLVED]
I am new too with this but I had similar problems before. You require that "When these conditions are met, enter at a stop price of today's high + $0.05." This has top execute at next bar based on the previous bar close because if it is executed at current bar it will assume that you know the high b...

Re: Portfolio and Multi-Strategy Walk Forward Optimization
Hello, I was wondering when the portfolio back tester will have walk forward optimization. Right now you can back test baskets of stocks but without walk forward optimization there is no way to validate how well the strategies will perform out of sample. Out-of-sample testing and wfo are not necess...

Re: Portfolio and Multi-Strategy Walk Forward Optimization
This can lead to data-snooping possibly. That is great news Henry.
It would be great if I can set an option where for out of sample testing I can use historical data outside of my out of sample data so my 50 day moving average is calculated on the first day.

Re: Import forex ascii data help [SOLVED]
Hello segut, Please follow instructions in the following MC Wiki article: https://www.multicharts.com/trading-software/index.php/Importing_Data Thanks Dave, it worked nicely. I guess the article could be a bit more clear to indicate that if a symbol does not exist, then it must be added and the app...
