Re: Regular MC vs. Dot-Net For Autotrading Futures with IB [SOLVED]

1. IB TWS vs. Gateway – You’re going to want to use IB Gateway since it doesn’t force a shutdown each day. Free tools exist that can work around that limit, however using those same tools with IB Gateway just further extends its strong points. seandean, Please can you give us some information about...

Re: Regular MC vs. Dot-Net For Autotrading Futures with IB [SOLVED]

I saw a nasty post about MC on the http://www.elitetrader.com forums....and it had me wondering whether or not anyone is doing realtime, algo trading using regular MC with an Interactive Brokers account for ES, YM or other futures ? I'd like to know what the problems and issues are before jumping o...

Re: Incorrect MultiCharts shut down/application crash

I just had my first MC crash, I didn’t pay much attention to it but came here to see if any others were experiencing the same, and it appears so. I’m using MC 6.5 64-bit release, two reports were sent back to your FTP. I can explain my situation which may help. I installed MC 6.5 release over the we...

Re: Multiple tick-size contracts

Unfortunately, at least with Interactive Brokers it functions with an error when a price is sent within a tick: The price does not conform to the minimum price variation for this contract. I would have to guess at this point that the strategy would have to be coded as such to handle this difference?...

Re: Multiple tick-size contracts

When the strategy enters an order, eg, BUY at 3.07, the official statement is BUY at 3.07 or better. Your order will be executed at worst at 3.05. The same applies to all the other instruments. eg. ES trades at 0.25 increments. If your strategy triggered a moving average cross over buy signal at 14...

Multiple tick-size contracts

Hello, I’m trying to run a strategy that involves options with multiple tick size vales based on the actual price. The option trades with a .01 tick value anywhere between 0 and 3.00, and .05 tick value anywhere above 3 (3.05, 3.10, 3.15, etc.). I’ve already executed real trades using normal buy and...

Re: Question - Session time restrictions [SOLVED]

Bear in mind that when the market is trading, the dataprovider is continuously feeding the quotes, and MultiCharts will receive those quotes. By limiting the session time in your symbol dictionary does not prevent the data from coming through. You are merely stop updating the time increments in you...

Re: Question - Session time restrictions [SOLVED]

You will need to change the session time in the symbol dictionary . Thanks. The market just opened and changing the Sessions information in QuoteManager appears to be working – no data is changing in MultiCharts, whereas my broker is live when set accordingly. I’m assuming that MultiCharts only exc...

Question - Session time restrictions [SOLVED]

The following question is applicable to both versions 8.0.5622 and 8.5.6525 Beta 2; What I’m trying to do: I’m trying to keep data (including study data) and trades (automated strategies) for the ES (US-GLOBEX) future to only be applicable to normal US stock trading hours (9:30 – 4:00). What I’m not...

Re: MULTICHARTS 8.5 BETA 2

I just upgraded from 8.0.5622 to 8.5.6525 Beta 2, I appreciate the new features and improvements. I’m noticing that the slippage calculation is not being displayed in the Strategy Performance Report, even though one has been set in the appropriate field under Strategy Properties. This was working be...
