Dear Sirs,
I do not autotrade with MC but have strategies running on it in realtime.
How can I see the orders and executions (which are generated in the charts) of these strategies in Position Tracker when I am not connected to a broker?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Signal-Properties in Portfolio Backtester?
Khalid, thanks for your fast answer. That is exactely the setting I mean and in addition I also would like to set up the "backtesting precision" in the backtesting tab of this window. To don´t use this setting would not solve my problem: Especially the "Position Limit" Setting is important for the i...

Signal-Properties in Portfolio Backtester?
Hello,
in Multicharts it is possible to change some setting in the properties section for pyramiding (handling of multiple signals per direction within one position) or intra-bar resolution.
Where can I set this up in Portfolio Backtester?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Multicharts 6.01 official release feedback
Hello, great that intrabar resolution is added for backtesting but it seems to require tick-data. In TS there is also an option to use Minute Date for this. It would be great to have this option in multichart. Now as you have it for ticks it should be easy to add it for minutes? F.e. ES has ~200000 ...

Walk Forward Performance Reports
I played a little with the Walk Forward Optimizer of MC and was wondering about the way MC handles Walk Forward. It seems to just show the results for the single In-Sample and Out-of-Sample Periods but does not combine them to one whole backtest. Other vendors (NT or AB) have the ability to choose (...

Hello, as far as I know no other trading software has the ability do do the following, but this would be very helpful for all mechanical traders I guess: The ability to reoptimize a strategy on a scheduled basis. Or in other words: a walk-forward-optimization for live-trading. The program should do ...

automatic reoptimization of trading strategies
Hello, does someone know a trading software which is able to reoptimize a trading strategy automatically in a defined interval, f.e. every 4 weeks during the weekend? I know some walk-forward-testing tools but I mean a software which does this in real trading phase. Because then I would be able to u...

Normaly there the data requests were visible. In the Chart I just see the data which are in the database alread...

Refresh of Charts with ASCII-DataSource
Hello, I´m generating ASCII-Files via EasyLanguage (Synthetical Symbols) and chart them for having the ability to generate tradingsignals on them. Therefore I´m using the QuoteManager and create symbols for ASCII-DataSource. The Problem is that it does´nt change the historical chart when the data ar...

MC 2.1.999.999 and MC 3.1.1300.201 on the same computer?
Hello, I searched the forum but could´nt find detailed information about running 2 versions of MC on the same PC. I´m a registered user and MC 2.1.999.999 works good for me. Now I´d like to test MC 3.1. and it´s new features without loosing the stability of MC 2.1. 1.) Is it possible to have both ve...

Merging ASCII-Data via Overwriting
Hello, is it possible to do the following with Multicharts?: 1.) Importing ASCII-Intradaydata with some missing bars (I know this is :D ) 2.) Importing a second ASCII-file which contains the missing bars Does this result in a dataseries which contains all bars? Of course I have to take care of the o...

Hi Marina, yes, of course: It´s all about building cont. contracts where the history of former contracts is adjusted to the price level of the current one. For trading systems this seems to be the best practice for getting consistent signals. With breakpoints it would be possible to reload just data...

Possibilty found for adjusted continues contracts in MC
Hello, as I red in the duscussion forum it´s not natively supported to build cont. contracts. For me it seems a useful way to export the data of the old contract via the Print-Command in EasyLanguage to an ASCII file and import them into the new contract again (or use ASCII-Mapping which ensures tha...

How to use function "FormatTime"
Hello, I´m trying to export data out of the chart in an individual format. Therefore the function FormatTime seems very useful. When I use Print(File("C:\temp\test.txt"),ELDateToString(Date),FormatTime("HH:mm",computerdatetime)); it works fine. But I would like to export the Time of each bar. If I u...

Hi Marina, you´re right. I´ve overseen some symbols. Now I used "Apply to all Symbols" and the file does´nt grow anymore. In my database I only collect Minute & Daily Data, no Ticks ("Fields to collect"). I´m quite satisfied with the small size of the TSSTORAGE.GDB also for big volumes of minute data. It also would be very helpful to set a breakpoint for a symbol so that no data before this breakpoint and (if possible) all data behind this breakpoint will be updated with new data from the datavendor (if it supports backfilling). This would make it possible to construct continious contracts with c...

TradeManager in Multicharts 2 ?
Hello, as I found out there was a TradeManager Window available in Multicharts 1.9. This was a very good Tool for having an overview about the current active orders (limits, stops) and recently executed orders. Is this feature really deleted in Multicharts 2? At least I Can´t find it. If so: Why? Wh...
