Re: MC slows down during announcements

Hello, we came to a conclusion why MC was slowing down and how to resolve the situation. Our setup for backtesting (using bid and ask + bar magnifier) together with having many years of historical data on every chart, required a lot of physical memory. To give some numbers, a year of historical data...

Re: MC slows down during announcements

TJ thank you for your comments and suggestions. I do not want to compromise the setup, in terms of history on the chart, because it may affect the performance of the strategy. I will do that only if I am convinced that it is too heavy even for the best machine I can find. I can and will try to impro...

Re: MC slows down during announcements

Escamillo, thank you for your post. Following are the replies to your questions: How many other users are on the serving you are using? I have to confirm with the data center, but i think we are the sole users. How many indicators and strategies do you have running on each open chart? One strategy p...

Re: MC slows down during announcements

Henry, thank you for the suggestion. I have already initiated a second instance of MC, so now the first one runs 35 charts and the second 15. To fully implement the strategy I need to add 5 more. I do no have yet a feeling on how the split solution is performing. For my hardware and software setup, ...

MC slows down during announcements

Hello, we are using simultaneously 40 robots connected to 5 Interactive Broker accounts. So we have 40 charts open at the same time. We trade FOREX and Gold. Our connection with IB is through the gateway. During rush trading hours (US opening, announcements) we notice that the MC is slowing down. Mo...

Synchronisation of Stop and Limit orders

I use !synchronisation from broker to strategy signal in order to synchronise the broker with the chart in cases of disconnection or of manual input at the broker side. The chart is synchronised regarding the live orders but not synchronised regarding the Stop and Limit orders. For example lets assu...

Re: Cover an order at a specific time [SOLVED]

Henry thank you. If i understood correctly: If IOG is off, and timeframe is 4H, a signal (robot) is initiated and executed once every 4Hours. If IOG is on, and timeframe is 4H, the signal is executed on every incoming tick. While IOG is on, if i want some parts of the signal to run only on the close...

Hello, i want to close an open order on the criterion of time (in minutes) that has passed since opening. If for example the open order was a short one and my time criterion is activated, i can use the buy to cover. For buy to cover, i can select "buy to cover this Bar On Close". So, if i use the 4H...
