Re: Studies do not show on real time charts [SOLVED]
TJ: Good morning. Thanks for the solution. One think comes to mind, though: why would I turn off real time data to a real time chart? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of such a chart? This question has probably been referenced before: I would like to create a system based on the trade signals generated by N-number smaller "sub-systems". For example, a sub-system based on volume, one based on COT data, another on a moving average crossover, etc. Then, as those sub-systems generate...

Re: buy or sell, higher or lower, than last signal
TJ: Thanks for the help. I added the variable as recommended, but am mis-directed as to how and where to set the condition. Here is the current system code: Inputs: lengthTrendAvg(260), lengthBreakOut(20); Variable: buy.price (0); Variable: sell.price (0); *******************************************...

buy or sell, higher or lower, than last signal
I have coded a very simple trend-following system: "If the long term moving average is greater than the same moving average N-1, then buy, at the close, if the current bar high is greater than the highest high from N days ago, or if the long term moving average is less than the same moving average N...

Plot PIVOT POINTS as horizontal lines for trading sessions
To all: I am familiar with the calculations for pivot points, but I would like to be able to plot them as horizontal lines on a chart, intraday, daily, weekly, etc., and be able to extend them as far into the future (number of bars?) as necessary. My expectation is to use them primarily on five minu...

A new feature suggestion...
I am currently running MC 5.5, and have not begun testing on any of the MC6 betas, so this feature may already be in production, but I would like to see a "windows" button added to the toolbar. My old TS2000i has it: you can add one or more "windows organizing button" to tile, cascade, and arrange a...

geizer: Thanks for the heads-up. I had thought so, as well. I believe I had seen past posts discussing the bug. Crazy enough (and maybe I am), after reading your reply to my query, I rechecked the version of MC (I am running MC 6 beta 3), created a new chart to see if the problem persisted, and of c...

backwards candle colors in beta 3
I am confronted with an unusual situation. I recently upgraded from MC 5.5 to 6 beta 3. I successfully imported all my studies, signals, and existing charts with embedded indicators. Everything carried over flawlessly (so far). However, when I create a new chart in beta 3, the default candle colors ...

To all: I can confirm this. I also format my candles in the "green up, red down" style. After installing MC6 b2, and opening previously saved charts created by MC 5.5 (Build2723) and earlier versions, I found that both the original charts opened in the bar chart style, and that changing to candles r...

import MC4.0 PowerLanguage into TS2000i EasyLanguage
To all:
I have been successful in importing my old TS2000i EasyLanguage studies into MC4 PowerLanguage.
Is there a way to export my latest MC studies into my old TS2000i? I have tried a straight IMPORT, but TS does not recognize the MC file.
Any help is appreciated in advance.

cannot download MC beta
I cannot download the new Multicharts beta version. Each time I have filled out the user and email information in the web form, I am told I should receive an email for the follow on download, as I have gotten from previous downloads. I wait the requisite two hours and then...nothing. I have submitte...

real time chart time scale off?
To all: I use Multicharts 3.0 with real time data from IB and historical data from Pinnacle Data in ASCII format. I track and trade gold, the 10y Note, crude oil, and the E-Mini S&P500 on five minute charts in real time. I use the same settings on my home PC and the one at work. Yesterday, I noticed...

ASCII import
Hey, sptrader: Thanks for the reply. My symbols are already there, as part of the data download process. I see all 89 of them in Quote Manager, in the Futures category and the Undefined exchange list, since this data is for historical continuous contracts. Everything seems to go fine until I want to...

no luck with ASCII mapping
To all: I am trying to use ASCII-format data in MC 3.0. I download EOD data from Pinnacle and use it in Metastock in MS format, and the Pinnacle software will also generate ASCII for the same futures contracts. I run MC Quote Manager, am told that the ASCII data has been mapped, I then import the AS...

cannot see daily bars
Hello all! I am new to MultiCharts, but have been using TS 2000i and MetaStock for many years, so I am comfortable with programs such as these. I use EOD data from Pinnacle, and know this data works in TS and MS, but when I try to generate a candlestick chart of daily data in MultiCharts, the chart ...
