tick data: timestamp granularity on data export
is it possible to get a greater resolution of timestamp on tick data than the second stamp at presented during data export? <Date> <Time> <Price> 16/09/2009 11:33:41 1058.75 sub-second would be great, as in fast markets its easily possible to have many ticks in the same second, and at the current re...

running out of memory
I've been testing some idea's on 1 tick charts, and loading a lot of data up. Occasionally i get an MC pop up dialogue box informing me that I'm running out of memory and I need to close some charts or reduce the number of bars. Unfortunately, a problem arises trying to comply with the request, beca...

portfolio tester problem
I'm trying to test a portfolio of currency markets using an EL signal strategy.
The signal works fine on a standalone chart, but when I try to run it in the portfolio backtester, I'm getting an "invalid pointer" error message.
am I doing something wrong?

DDE vs RTD
any prospects of MultiCharts being able to work with RTD data links, as opposed to DDE uplink?
When working with TT via DDE, there is just not enough tick data being transmitted, there is some kind of throttling or filter on the data being sent into MC, which for volume bars is everything.

MC on USB drive
is it possible to install and run MC from a USB type drive or memory stick? I'm interested in installing MC on a portable drive that could then be used with different computers depending on my location. Will this work? or is the MC installation tied to a registry entry that would be machine specific?

TT connectivity
Any plans for MultiCharts to be able to use the Trading Technologies feed? it would be great to connect MC to TT via the FIX gateway, or using the X_Trader API (or better still, both!)

I was very pleased to see that MC have radically improved optimization test processing time. does this speed improvement also convert into improvements in the way that MC handles data, calculates indicator plots and updates charts? In the past, I had experienced problems with MC charts seriously lag...

problem importing read-only studies with shared functions
I have several SEF files for different studies, which have some common shared functions. As of the latest release of MC (v2.1.999.999) when I try to import a .SEF file, if the common files are already installed, I cannot complete the import process, because the installation process no longer allows ...

OTfeed should provide backdata, should it not?
i'm experimenting with the feed, and I am correctly able to access realtime data, but historical data is not being downloaded.
is there a known issue? or any advice on correctly downloading back data

Vista Release Candidate 1 - any compatible MC betas?
I've setup the latest Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 64bit version on one of my PC's. MC vers 1.90.559.729 seems to run up ok, but when I try to setup the data vendor options, the menu's dont seem to work properly, ie: no choices to select from. When I import the .GBD files from a running XP vers...

continuous contracts for rollover data
how does one go about creating a continuous chart where eSignal does not offer continuous data? for example - GB M6-DT - bund data for June, rolled forward onto GB u6-DT August contract. Is there a way to splice the two contracts together? Obviously on the rollover the U6 data has no real data histo...

Creating a spread chart between two futures
is it possible to create inter-market spread charts between two futures contracts? ie: bund/bobl
I know its possible to create these synthetically in eSignal but I presume since MC accesses the data server directly these synthetics are not accessible?

using esignal synthetic continuous contracts + esig backfill
I've browsed & searched the forums without luck, so apologies if this has been answered before: in esignal you can create synthetic continuous contracts for the data they do not natively support in the #f continuous contracts. I've created a synthetic continuous contract for DAX and Bund data, but I...
