Not sure what you mean that those times are not understood. If you use a starttime > 1075 it still returns results. If it was not understood you would think that it would return no results.

Can you check with the developers what it means?

I have always felt that Multicharts has the best designs for their software and website. Not sure what happened here. I figured it out. The high and low were from the overnight session and I was only plotting the intraday. I now just manually enter the high low and close and I get the proper pivots on my study.

I am using 5 minute bars to trigger a limit order. If that order is not filled within the next 5 minutes the order is canceled.

How do I prevent that order from being canceled until it is either filled or a new trigger creates a new order?

The most valuable thing one could sell would be Easy language source code for self optimizing a set of inputs.

It seems to be calculating profit and loss assuming $10 per point instead of $50. I changed that value in the quote manager and it didn't change the outcome in the strategy performance report.

I am pretty sure Multicharts doesn't have support for hidden or reserve/iceberg orders in IB. If not can we please add this capability.

I don't know how many traders use Multicharts to auto trade large trades but if Multicharts wants to be used by professional traders they need to add this feature.

Getting Historical Data

I use IQfeed for data and they only seem to have intraday (one minute bars) for only one year back.

Where can I get maybe the past 10 years of one minute bars? I know TS has 20 years of minute bars but is there anywhere else I can get them?

I noticed that it seems like the only bar price data points you can use are open, high, low, and close.

What if I want to know the last price. I don't care if the bar has closed or not. I just want the last price traded in real time.

The more I read the more I think I can do this without Global variables.

Instead I can just add all the symbols/timeframes into the chart then reference them as Data2, Data3, etc.

The issue will be fixed in MultiCharts 6.
What about how in Windows 7 all workspaces are one on top of the other.

When you open up multiple workspaces they are all on the screen at the same time instead of being able to switch between them.

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and this issue is back.

I tried the hotfix but it causes the program to be corrupt.

I also noticed in windows 7 that if you do have multiple workspaces open they appear one above the other?!?

This has happened two days in a row.

Look at the SPX.XO (and INDU.X and who knows what else!!)

The SPX.XO is stuck at 1073.66. When I add the symbol again it shows the proper price at 1060.87

This is concerning.

But the daily "24 hour" session for the SPX is from 9:30 to 4:00 EST. There is no after hours for this index.

I'm pretty sure the problem still exists even in this case.

I don't ever want to worry about when I close my program etc. Data and charts shouldn't be that fragile. Everytime I look at a Multicharts chart I should see all data!!!

Since I love your product and can tell that you will be unable to fix the esignal daily data issues I am switching to IQ feed once my contract with esignal is up.

I would recommend that you warn customers that daily data may be missing if they use esignal data.

I've switched to the ES contract recently and notice that when I move my cursor up and down on the chart the price shown goes in increments of two decimal places (937.26, 937.27, 937.28, etc.) But in reality the contract only trades in increments of .25. (937.25, 937.50, 937.75, etc)

My only fear is what if you do a reload after hours but before esignal posts the official close. Would that cause Multicharts to pull a "blank" bar? Will Multicharts know if the esignal official close daily bar is not ready yet?

Here are the screenshots. I just opened my charting after hours started flipping through charts and noticed GS was missing data again.

I have also sent the logs to Marina.

I'm surprised no one else has been noticing this issue again.

Esignal Missing Daily Data Part II

Sad to report that this issue is back.

The way it manifested itself with me is by opening daily charts after hours from my Market Scanner.

I will be sending the logs to the support team and have talked to them about this issue. If anyone else is having this issue again please post here.

Ok. Cool. Now that that's solved... anyone have trouble with esignal daily futures bars?

I always seem to get the overnight action ie no gaps. I have my sessions defined properly in the Quote Manager and equities always seem fine but I never seem to have overnight gaps in the futures charts?!?

Chart Window Loading Beta 5

Most of my charts say this in the title bar of my detached chart windows. If I type the symbol into the chart again its fixed.

Also sometimes when I drag the x axis it moves the entire chart instead of resizing the space between bars.

Anyone else having either of these issues?

Hi Marina,

You can use any equities symbol. Try AAPL.

The field can be found when you open a quote window and right click on the field and choose replace field.

I run 4 monitors, 3 with MC and 1 with TWS. I stretch 1 workspace across three monitors and then place multiple windows within the workspace.
I hope this helps.

I have two moving averages for my 30 minute chart... they are the 65 and 130 period SMA.

In reality they are the 5 and 10 day moving average.

Is there a way to add text after each moving average calling them a 5 day and 10 day?

Tonight I noticed that when I look at the OIH it is missing 12/4 daily data and the SPY has the 12/4 data...

These symbols are both on the same exchange (AMEX). I hope this doesn't poke any holes in the hypothesis.

Spoke too soon. Today's 10/20 daily bar seemed to work fine until market closed. Then when I flipped through charts it didn't show today's daily bar. In the quote manager it seems to have duplicated Fridays data in the last entry.

ok. But the as shown in the screen shot the realtime scanner is trying to plot after hours quotes.

If what you said is correct. The quote should show the closing value of the YM.

Also the ES ALWAYS shows correct after hours quotes in the scanner.

Instead of pulling in esignal price data using the "Last Trade Price" field. Please use the "Last/Extended Hours Last"

That will give Multicharts the ability to chart equities in real time after hours with esignal data!!!

To be more precise, the bug with disappearing daily bars has already bee fixed. The fix is there in the beta 3 version.

All of the values calculate incorrectly.

It's most obvious when you the scaling option of "Same as Symbol"
