Duplicate Bars and PLE crash to report

With the new beta I noticed two issues to bring to the developers attention: 1) When I load a chart ( ESignal Provider) often the last or second-to-last bar is duplicated. If I reload the chart it displays properly. It has tripped me up on occasion because running strategies do process the duplicate...

I just subscribed to ESginal EOD 2 weeks ago. I'm quite happy with it. Be aware that you cannot access the service during trading hours (even to get last night's EOD data). It is accessible on the weekends.

Once I corrected the "Min Movement" in the symbol settings form the default of 125 to 1, all the stops are now calculating correctly. Of course my strategy needs readjustment, but at least now everything is being calculated accurately.

With the help of Sergee at the helpdesk, the best guess is that the Symbol settings are off.

Any idea where I can find Big Point Value, Min movement and Price scale data for ETFs? I use ESignal. No mention of this anywhere on their site or knowledgebase.

Percent Trailing Stop Problem

I cannot seem to figure out how Multicharts calculates the percent trailing stop. Please help me understand where I'm going wrong. When I set the % trailing stop to 40%, it has been executing at anywhere from 47-66%. I can't seem to figure out how/when it decides to execute the stop. For Example: Se...

Bug Report: Portolio Backtester

I'm really liking the portfolio backtester, but I discovered a bug the developers should know about. The backtester allows you to set a "Max Percent of Capital at Risk per Position" which is essentially not functioning, because regardless of what % you set the backtester will buy positions greater t...

Thank you for the reply Marina. I am encouraged to see that you realize the value of incorporating this feature into Multicharts down the line. If I had the money to expend on software, I would certainly consider the PRO license, as I am sure that the progammer time and support attention required to...

Portfolio Money Management and Autotrading

Hey, I am developing a long-term trading strategy to be autotraded on a basket of stocks. The Portfolio Backtester has money management and risk management features that I am wondering how to implement when autotrading through IB. For instance, the Portfolio Backtester dynamically montiors portolio ...

AutoTrading Questions

Hey all, I'm interested in opening an account with IB for autotrading. I can't seem to find any info on how the actual autotrading is conducted. Once connected to TWS do you simply run a strategy on your desired symbol's data and it buys/sells in your IB account? Are there special commands for EasyL...

Nevermind. I will manually rewrite all the built-in stoploss functions I'm using, and I'll include a message output to the log when stop conditions are met. That way I can get my buy or sell signals the night before planned execution.

Discretionary Trading

Hey all, I've created a strategy using close data to generate buy and sell signals I plan use in a discretionary fashion for trading. The problem that I have is knowing in advance whether a signal has been generated on TODAY's close for TOMORROW's open. For example using the "stoploss" function on c...

Best Value Data Feed

I'm new to MC and would like some opinions on data feeds. In particular, which one(s) seem to be the best value for the money. By value I mean accurate, and plays nicely with MC. I'd like 10 years or more of history for back testing. The most I need to see are minute bars. Tried OpenTick but it does...
