Give this a try.
Add the indicator as a subchart. Plot the gap as histogram and average as a line.
I was playing around with the SyntaxHighlighter this morning, and I think this might be a good addon for the MC forum. For example, the code from TJ would have looked with syntax highlight as:

Quite pretty and easy to read I think. Perhaps, with the coming .NET the code examples will get a lot bigger, so a syntax highlighter might be even more needed then.

Just a little forum suggestion. :)

I have used it on a blog, and it works well.
It becomes easy to read code. You also can add your own syntax (to support powerlanguage).
