I can't open any workspaces. The error is "Unrecognized file format".
I go to the folder where all my workspaces are saved and they are still there. For example: I have a workspace named ES. So, I went to Open Existing Workspace from the tool bar in Multicharts and selected the file "ES" and also as "ES.wsp" but still the same error.
However, the workspace that came with Multicharts viz. "Indices Demo workspace" has opened correctly.
I had closed my multicharts correctly (no computer crashes) before I shut down the computer last time. Please help asap. Thanks.

Hello Hilbert,
This error message means that your workspaces are corrupted.
Please send them to support@multicharts.com and I will try to restore them.

Re: Unrecognized File Format
This happened to me this morning and once last week. I had to recreate them, very frustrating.

Re: Unrecognized File Format
MultiCharts user data (like any other windows files) can become corrupted by incorrect application shutdown, application crash or freeze, power outage, PC crash.

Re: Unrecognized File Format solution
This just happened to me, I copied the workspaces to another drive and opened them from there. Multicharts recognized them immediately

Re: Unrecognized File Format
Consider using a service such as Dropbox, Box.net, OneDrive, etc. to continuously backup your workspaces. Be careful though as some services will erase your good backups with the corrupted one, so you want a service that saves past copies (I use paid Dropbox which does but they're not the only service doing this).
With Dropbox or other services that have a single folder they back up you can use a symbolic link to create a subfolder pointing to the folder which has your workspaces.
