Interactive Broker - Format Broker Symbol issue

Postby KhaosTrader » 14 Sep 2012

Hi,

My chart trading doesnt work unless I delete all the exchanges except for smart.

Is there a way where i can make the exchange just have "smart" rather than.. "NASDAQ;SMART;ARCA;BATS;BEX;BTRADE;BYX;CBSX;CHX;CSFBALGO;DRCTEDGE;EDGEA;IBSX;ISE;ISLAND;JEFFALGO;LAVA;MIBSX;NSX;PSX;VWAP"

For IB stocks SMART exchange should be the first one in the list. You can just change the order in the list or add ths symbol from the data source under SMART exchange (QuoteManager->Instrument tab->Add symbol->From data source-> IB) and then select it in the mapping.

ok i have 100s of symbols, so I rather not do each by hand, is there a way to mass edit or at least make a default?

If your datafeed is as well IB then you need to do the following:
1) Delete all stocks with wrong exchange, leave/add/change to only the correct instruments under Smart exchange.
2) Create new IB broker profile in MultiCharts->File->Broker profiles->Manage->New.
3) Correct symbol mapping would be added automatically once you use the symbol.
