MultiCharts automated order execution: Enter and Exit

Postby Mitch K » 17 Sep 2012

Hey all,
I would like to put a "require order execution" for my entries and an automatic order execution for my exits. I was told I might be able to do this through MultiCharts.NET but I would like to have this in the normal MultiCharts build. If something like this is available can you please point me to the wiki or just type out the process if its not to long. Also is it possible with a MultiCharts license to transfer that license onto a MultiCharts.Net license.
Thanks
MK

can you elaborate on what you mean by:

"I would like to put a "require order execution" for my entries and an automatic order execution for my exits."

I would like to be asked if I should transmit the order if an entry signal is generated but not if it is an exit signal.

Check this box to "Require Order confirmation"

I'm guessing that this is what you want.

I saw this but it then places an order confirmation on both entry and exit orders. If a strategy gives an entry order, what ever it is, I want to have to click a yes or no but on a strategy exit order I do not want to have to do this. It was alluded that MultiCharts.Net may be able to this.

It can be done on the regular MultiCharts.
It will require some advanced level programming.
It is not difficult, it just require some time and careful planning.

Any specific methods/functions that I should look into to be able to set these. It would be really helpful.

Talked via live chat about this problem. There is no way a strategy enter and exit signals can have a different property in MultiCharts. It is possible through MC.NET
