IB Gateway and Advisor Account

Postby Spark » 04 Jun 2013

Does the connection through IB Gateway let me use Advisor Account's Groups to allocate my strategy positions in MultiCharts? I don't see any group in IB Gateway, that's the problem.

Thanks!

Hello Spark,

Have you tried to use IB TWS to setup the allocation profiles, setup IB FA connection in MultiCharts same way it is done in TWS, and then use IB Gateway?

I am trying to use the "manual allocation" setting and then referencing an allocation profile that I set up in TWS. When I connect using IB Gateway, the allocation always ends up being the "default" allocation for the account instead of the profile I created.
When I connect with TWS the profile seems to work.
I will be troubleshooting with IB in the coming days, and I spoke with Andrew about this issue a few days ago. It is my understanding that this is a known issue with MC and a fix is expected in version 8.8
Just wanted to put that out there in case anyone is having similar issues.
