This Board is TERRIBLE

Postby Guest » 01 Sep 2006

EVERY night there are a bunch of Porno or Spam messages on this board!

What happened to all the trusted volunteers that were going to keep on top of this problem? Or the staff of MC?

Also so many times real problems are posted here and all we get is call us and we will look at your problem real time. That is great, but it seems that for the rest of us,we are not usually told the results, like if the problem was found and resolved, etc??

As to spam, yesterday we installed an additional anti-spam module that will decrease considerably the number of unwanted posts. During the week we will watch how effective it is and if necessary we will take additional moderators.

As to the problems reported on the forum, we always try to describe possible solutions directly on the forum so that other users can use this experience. However, not always it is possible. Not all users have enough computer skills to formulate properly their issues and in some cases an attempt of solving an ordinary issue via the forum can take several days. But, anyway, your report is absolutely right and we'll try to post a brief summary with the reasons of problems and solutions in each topic.

Thanks for the update Stanley.

Not really funny, but 29 minutes after you posted about the increased security, there was a Porn post-next in line after your post!

Looking forward to seeing the increased problem solving posted here - and also trying the new Beta just announced this morning.

TS Support.....Help!

Postby Rasan » 04 Sep 2006

I have MetaStock Pro 9.2 (real time) and QuoteCenter subscription, and I just installed the trial MultiCharts yesterday.
Most of the time when I launch QuoteManager I get this error window

Image

and I failed to plot any chart of my stocks (I followed the tutorial movies step by step)
I uninstalled and reinstalled the program but problem persisted.
What I want to do is:
1. If possible use MultiCharts with QuoteCenter (real time).
2. I have data history files as MetaStock, ASCII, and Excel formats stored in my hard disk and I want to convert them to MultiCharts format (as I do with MetaStock donwloader).

1. If possible use MultiCharts with QuoteCenter (real time).
MultiCharts doesn't support QuoteCenter so far because they don't provide us with their API.
2. I have data history files as MetaStock, ASCII, and Excel formats stored in my hard disk and I want to convert them to MultiCharts format (as I do with MetaStock donwloader).
You can easily import all these files into the MultiCharts. Please review MetaStock Data, ASCII Import and ASCII Mapping tutorials:

Most Forums do not allow Guests to post. I think that is an obvious first step. Also a valid email address should be required for registration.

Cheers,
nick.

Just make posters register properly

Postby foxtrot » 06 Sep 2006

Hi, I have to agree with Nick. If someone isn't willing to register with you and give a genuine email address for a confirmation request to be sent to, then at the best they are probably time-wasters and mostly will be spammers. Just about every forum I've subscribed to lately has this requirement. By all means use anti-spam filters, but do us all a favour and make everyone register properly if they wish to post. I'm sure you have better things to do than put up with this crap, just like the rest of us.

Cheers, Foxtrot
