Hi,

It was supposed to be multiple data EDITING - the ability to change properties for several symbols at a time. Sorry about the confusion.

Many many moons back, you guys said, you will in future versions provide a means for MC to schedule backfill of historical data.

Is that still in the works ? If so when is it schedule ?

OR for those of us who monitor 30-50 symbols, do you want us to manually reload the data everyday ?

thanks

Would the "stop" keyword optimization slow down problem be fixed in the next release?

Yes. After the recent improvements, optimization on most scripts has become 30% faster.

The example below shows how fast the code can be optimized (MC vs TS, and 1 core MC vs 2 core MC)

1000 iterations
TS - 46 sec
MC 1 core - 26 sec
MC 2 core - 14 sec

{--------------------------------------------}

inputs:
Iteration( 10000);

Buy next bar highest(high, 20) stop;
Sell short next bar lowest(low, 20) stop;

{---------------------------------------------}

Will you also add the Warrants type instruments? I think it is very easy.

Hi,

Could you please tell us what data providers give data on Warrants? We haven't come across this type of instruments in any of the providers we support.

Thank you.

I'm using IB with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange data. You can search the warrants using IB's contract search:
www.interactivebrokers.co.uk/contract_info/index.php
Exchange: SEHK
Symbol: HSI
Contract Type: Warrant

Hi Marina,

I was looking through the development list and was wondering if two items would be included

a) The linking feature able to only include symbols from certain exchanges Eg when I type in a symbol - MC will only chart the symbol from the nominated exchange eg ASX and disregard the identical symbols listed on LSE and NYSE

b) The directory filter when inserting metastock data into QM

Regards,
Paul

The features listed above are a strong set.

If these are delivered, working well, by the end of December (2007), that would be excellent!

It's clear that MC has chosen a pretty large canvas for their next release.

After this "large canvas" release, and before the next one, I hope there will be a "small canvas" release that quickly adds some of the simpler but still very important items that have been identified and remain outstanding.

This one, in particular, would be a major enabler (IMO), and having to wait a long time for it to be incorporated into another MAJOR release would be frustrating:

We are going to change the compilation of codes containing upsupported words in future. This task has been added to our working schedule. As to impelentation ETA I cannot give you any details at the moment.

In general, if you can manage two tracks of development (major-effort/slower-schedule, minor-effort/faster-schedule), rather than making all efforts await a MAJOR release, I think that would be ideal.

Hi MC_Prog,

Thank you for the suggestion. We have a roadmap for both major and minor improvements and try to implement them as soon as they are ready to be incorporated into the program.

Best regards.
