Overnight Open P/L wrong

Postby siscop » 13 Aug 2013

I dont know if it has already been mentioned it but every night the MC open P/L shown are wrong. In the screenshot you can see an example of 5 open positions where it tells me that I am in the negative.

On the second screenshot you can see the real (and wright) open P/L from TWS.

I am aware that on the overnight position the spread (ask/bid) are very high and it might be difficult which one to take but isn’t there a possibility to take the value that is shown in the TWS – which comes very close to the real value.
MC keeps on showing me nagativ values - and that every night which isn’t very nice to look at ;-D

Should I change the default Unrealized Profit calculation from
By best Bid and best Ask
to
By last trade?
Would make sense...
Thank you Andrew. I will try it and see if it changes.

Do I have to reload MC to see the change? I will do it whenever I am flat again.

Yes, Siscop. This is exactly what i was going to suggest:
  1. Change the PnL calculation method (by the way, it is calculated locally in MC, so the value in TWS may be different anyway),
  2. Close MC and all its products,
  3. Make sure all MC processes are shut down,
  4. Restart MC and see if it helped.
