Batch importing Symbols & Data ?

Postby Aston01 » 29 Oct 2013

I understand how to import a symbol list, but seem to be having a bit of difficultly batch importing the ASCII mapped data to go with the symbols.

Is there a similar method for importing the data as well ?

Hello Aston01,

Multiple ASCII files data import has not been implemented yet. You may vote for it here:

You can also use ASCII mapping to get the data from the files directly, instead of importing them into the database. It allows mapping multiple files in one go.

Henry I was mapping multiple files like you suggested and had two questions.

- What is the difference between the resolutions "Tick" and "Tick bar" ?

- Is there anyway to batch change the "Big Point Value" field ?

Thanks

"Tick" resolution implies single Close price for data.
"Tick bar" resolution implies 4 prices- OHLC.
- Is there anyway to batch change the "Big Point Value" field ?
Once the files are mapped - highlight the symbols you need to modify in the QuoteMananger symbol list->Right click on any of them->Edit Symbols->Settings tab->Specify the BigPointValue you need->Click OK.
