Pre-scanning auto start

Postby evdl » 25 Nov 2013

I like to use the Pre-scanning feature to scan(backfill) my data every 30 minutes. This will insure me of backfilling missed tickdata within the limitations of the IB datafeed.

When I start the workspace, is there a way to let MC automatically start the scan for the first time and then backfill the data every 30 minutes (or other set time).

At the moment, as I understand it, you have to first select Rescan now before the time interval of scanning is started. With a lot of workspaces, is there a way of letting MC start the first scan, for example, at opening of the workspace (or opening of the desktop with multiple workspaces) and then keep the interval of scanning till further notice?

Hello evdl,

When you open the workspace - the data is loaded for the instruments and the studies are calculated on it (first scan). If you have clicked Rescan now and saved your workspace, then upon opening this workspace initial calculation will happen, then the instruments will be scanned with the specified interval.

Yes, that works great. Nice feature.

Thanks Henry.
