Multicharts with Esignal

Postby horton » 18 Feb 2014

As of this morning my Esignal interface no longer works with Multicharts. I updated MC and Esignal to the latest releases without a resolution. My Esignal charting app and my Qlink excel client are working so the issue is isolated to the MC interface to Esignal.

Anyone else having trouble with MC/Esignal today?

I started up my MC 32 bit for the first time in a few months and observed the same issues. So now I am thinking this is an Esignal Data Manager issue.

Has there been a change in the way Multicharts handles symbol limits for data providers?

Hello horton,

Do you have connection in eSignal Data Manager (Reception and Password should show OK status)?
If there is no connection in eSignal Data Manager-please contact eSignal support directly.
If connection is ok in eSignal Data Manager - please start QuoteManager and check the Even Log. Are there any error messages?

I have the same problem, I think it started on Monday. The connection is ok in eSignal Data Manager and I'm running eSignal just fine, but the charts in MultiCharts are blank and stuck on "Waiting for data" or "Establishing connection... (RT: Online)".

noodlesong,

Have you tried closing all MultiCharts processes and starting it again?
Have you tried disabling your anti virus?

I had eSignal reset my entitlements but I'm still down. The real hangup appears to be the interface with the minute server. Here's the last several events in the QM log, showing that minute requests are not resolving:

I have an old version 6 beta for MC on an old workstation running against the old eSignal DM. This one is running ok. Here's what the QM event log shows for successful minute server requests:

[02/19/2014 13:54:35] Advise Transaction 700 Minute 6E #F 19.02.14 17:08:00 - 19.02.14 19:00:00
[02/19/2014 13:54:35] Request 198 TurnArround=200 6E #F 1 MINUTE 19.02.14 17:08:00 - 19.02.14 19:00:00
[02/19/2014 13:54:35] Transaction 700 Status: Online (19.02.14 19:54:35)
[02/19/2014 13:54:36] Transaction 700 received: History Minutes 110 [19.02.14 17:08:00 - 19.02.14 18:59:00]
[02/19/2014 13:54:36] Complete Transaction 700

Disabling Microsoft Security Essentials (the only anti-virus I have) did the trick for me. Which processes should I exclude to prevent this from happening again?

So something is going off the rails between the Advise event and the Request event in the MC code that interfaces with the eSignal DM minute server, but I don't know which side is causing the problem.

FIXED. Thanks again Henry and noodlesong.

I want to turn my av back on as soon as possible. Which MC process should I exclude from the MSSE realtime monitoring? Perhaps start with tsServer?
