Connecting dde to page of excel workbook

Postby jl12 » 25 Jan 2008

I am trying to connect the dde to ibbrokers sample worksheet, it works fine referencing the first page on a work book but I need to extract data from mother named pages.

I have tried the following syntax in the settings template to connect to the Market depth page and get errors messages in Test.

=EXCEL|MSFT.xls|Market Depth!*

Please could you tell me how to reference a page within the workbook

Hi..

I'm sorry I cannot answer your question, but apparantly you know something about DDE.

Do you know if I can use DDE to retrieve historical quotes?

Hi, I got same problem.
Does anyone know how to set data source in different sheets in Excel?
For example, I'd like to receive data in R2C1 in Sheet2
I've tried "=EXCEL|[test.xls]Sheet2!R2C1", but didn't work

bucks,

I/we support could not solve it via remote at my PC. It looks like an Excel problem (IB DDE-link problem)...

Hi bucks,

The thing is that IB dde works differently compared to other data providers. We tried making it work with MC several times but it never did - due to the peculiarities of the IB dde link. For now, we don't have a solution (this is why we don't have a template for IB among other dde templates)
