Establishing... Connection

Postby randomname » 28 Jan 2008

In the new beta version 3.0.1120.3117, I am not able to bring up any charts, all it says is Establishing... Connection.

When I look in QuoteManager I see the request and the completion of data received but it doesn't look like the chart window is recognizing the data for some reason.

Any body else have this problem?

I uninstalled the beta and went back to 2.1.999.999 and can download data agian just fine, but now when I try to open a workspace it says unexpected file format, is the new beta version and the older version not compatible?

It seems that there is an issue with "Days Back", if you switch to bars back instead, it should bring up the chart. This is at least a fix for the moment.

Best regards,

Hi guys,

ABC is right - the first beta had issues with days back.

However, we have already fixed the bug. If you go to http://forum.tssupport.com/viewtopic.php?t=4672 , you'll find a link to the beta version that has this problem solved.

Best regards.

This download is only 1.67 meg .. Is it just a patch or a full install ?

Hi drwar,

The latest link is to the fully functional version. Only there has been a protocol mistake. We are going to fix the problem shortly and you'll be able to download the fixed beta version using the latest link.

Reagards.

Does MC works more efficiently with "Bars back" instead of "Days back" on constant volume bar charts??

Hi TJ,

There was simply a bug with the days back in beta version which has now been fixed.

This is not a same problem. It is completely different.
We have been using prophet finance data for several years, but now they have closed it and we have no access to download the history.
Unfortunately until we find a free alternative you will have to use daily bars only. They come from yahoo.

Are there maybe some ideas from the forum contributors? It would be very appreciated, to have a replacement for the EX-FREE Intra-Day datas of prophetfinance.com.
Thanks in advance to all

We need free and reliable (I mean well known and mature). Otherwise it doesn't make sense to spend time on it.

Andrew,

I have no idea about the suitability in terms of how free it is as I haven't used the service for many years.

As for well known and mature they certainly are. (Listed LSE:AFN). I remember them buying up competitors as long ago as 2001, now they are international having taken over a number of foreign companies.

Global coverage of markets:

Not of any interest to me but might be worth looking into.
