Error Plotting Soybean futures with Opentick as source

Postby aljafp » 05 Feb 2008

hi,
I am plotting these symbols
/SH8 exchange code BT and also /SMH8 exchange code BT

I noticed that on Daily charts the volumes are all 0.

Is this a bug ?

Anyone else having the same problems ?

thanks

Hi aljafp,

OpenTick does not provide volume for some of their symbols.

Hi aljafp,

OpenTick does not provide volume for some of their symbols.
That may be true for other symbols...
But for the symbols i stated, i am able to get volume using NT....

So the problem is with Multicharts !!!

Hi aljafp,

As you know, OpenTick server is down at the moment. Therefore we can't check if it provides volume data for this particular symbol.

However, please keep in mind that when volume data is not provided by the data feed, some platforms create this volume data using ticks. I don't know if NT does it or not.

As soon as OpenTick fixes their servers, we'll check volume for /SH8 and /SHM8.

Opentick is now up, any new updates on your investigation ?

I don’t know why you can get the data with NT. Double check everything. We use official Open Tick sample which is called histcsv.exe.
It returns for /SH8:

If you believe we do something wrong please call OpenTick and ask them to double check the issue.

You can download the same sample from OpenTick and check on your own.
