New update of MC - IB symbols

Postby mister_slime » 10 Nov 2014

Hi, I am a manual chart trader using interactive broker,
MC does help me a lot by facilitating my order placement.
I do enjoy this software, but I doubt that there's a bug relating to symbol names

Recall: there's an item in the new update (TWS version 9.69.01):
● IB symbol names now reflect how they are called in TWS

I am trading NK225MZ4 through MC fine, once I have updated, I do not receive any data.
And I find that the symbol name has changed (actually not just Nikkei, also do Kospi, CAC40)
Image

Then I open a chart with new symbol (the 169xxxxxxxxx instead of NK225MZ4)
And I find that I cannot summit any order, I can just receive data for charting

Can anyone help solving my problem?

Hello mister_slime,

In MultiCharts 9.0 there were symbol identification updates for TWS API connection.
Old instruments can be used for receiving historical data.
For realtime data and trading please add the new symbols from the data source.
In QuoteManager please go to Instrument tab->Add symbol->From data source->IB
The IB to IB mapping will be added automatically and trading will work ok from the box.

Custom futures algorithms need to be reworked in order to support the new instrument name of the N225M. You may want to submit a feature request to the Project Management of our web site so other users can vote for it: https://www.multicharts.com/pm/
