Has anyone backtested with IB beyond their 1 year of historical data?
I learned that it is possible to extend the amount of provided historical data (up to 5 years) through an API change. But I chatted with one IB rep and he said I would have to buy a QuoteBooster subscription and and would cost about $300 for one month. Then I spoke to another IB rep and he told me it most likely wasn't necessary, because I'm looking at expired ES contract vs equities. And even if it necessary, to make sure that the QuoteBooster supported my timeframe (which is 4 hrs or 240 mins).
Can anyone please confirm either of these different opinions for me please?
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Interactive Brokers Backtesting and Quotes Booster
It is possible to find data in ASCII format (at much cheaper price) somewhere in web to import the data into existing symbols in QuoteManager (unless you have "MultiCharts for TWS" version). The workaround would work both for regular securities (like stocks) and for individual futures contracts to build a custom continios one.
