The prior topic was closed and I wanted to share some simple ways to check latency if curious. This is specific for Rithmic and IQFeed.
The following "to do" is direct from Rithmic
"The best way to test latency is to login with r | trader, go to the window menu and select preferences. A window pops up. go to the performance tab. There you will find a ping test which is more accurate that a network ping as it measures the time between your r | trader and a process on one of our servers using the actual route that your data will take."
The following "to do" is direct from IQ Feed to find the IP address.
"Please find your DTN icon in your system tray, right click on it and choose Feed Stats. In the IQfeed Connection Manager you will see the IP address that you are connected to for testing purposes."
