M/C 9.0 (and older versions) deletes/cancels stop loss orders for an active position if the connection with the broker is lost. I have experienced this with AvaTrade and CQG.
If your PC freezes, or your internet connection is interrupted, or you simply exit M/C with an active position, your STOP LOSS and profit target will be cancelled from the broker's server. This is a major flaw and needs to be corrected immediately.
Has anyone else noticed this flaw, and does this also occur with Interactive Brokers?
Feedback would be appreciated.
Bruno
M/C 9.0 deletes STOP LOSS orders
Re: M/C 9.0 deletes STOP LOSS orders
I noticed nothing under trade settings that cause M/C to delete a stop loss from the broker's server if the connection is interrupted. Besides, the problem was acknowledged 4 months ago and is supposed to be corrected in version 9.1.
Do your stop loss orders remain on the broker's server after exiting M/C?
Thanks.
Bruno

Re: M/C 9.0 deletes STOP LOSS orders
Hello Bruno,M/C 9.0 (and older versions) deletes/cancels stop loss orders for an active position if the connection with the broker is lost. I have experienced this with AvaTrade and CQG.

This is not exactly correct. All available brokers (except Interactive Brokers and FXCM) do not support server side OCO groups. Therefore when you intentionally disconnect the broker profile - all manually placed orders that were in an OCO group emulated by MultiCharts are cancelled. If broker connection is lost, your PC freezes, or your internet connection is interrupted - MultiCharts will not cancel the orders in an emulated OCO group as it no longer has connection to broker.
As for the single active orders - at the moment they are as well cancelled when you intentionally disconnect the broker profile, but we are going to improve this behavior and leave single active orders at broker upon disconnecting the broker profile in MultiCharts 9.1 Beta 1. This version is in the work at the moment but there is no estimated release date.
