Why there is so big difference among data in MCFX (FXCM) , DailyFx.com (FXCM) and JfOrex (DukasCopy)....
I have compared 3 DataSource :
EUR/USD DAILY BID PRICE
12/10/2015
OPEN PRICE MCFX (FXCM) : 1.13720
OPEN PRICE DAILY FX (FXCM): 1.13604
OPEN PRICE JFOREX (DUKASCOPY): 1.13603
12 PIPS BETWEEN MCFX AND DAILY FX .....with same datasource FXCM
CLOSE PRICE MCFX (FXCM) : 1.13576
CLOSE PRICE DAILY FX (FXCM): 1.13574
CLOSE PRICE JFOREX (DUKASCOPY): 1.13581
13/10/2015
OPEN PRICE MCFX (FXCM) : 1.13576
OPEN PRICE DAILY FX (FXCM): 1.13574
OPEN PRICE JFOREX (DUKASCOPY): 1.13579
CLOSE PRICE MCFX (FXCM) : 1.13811
CLOSE PRICE DAILY FX (FXCM): 1.13785
CLOSE PRICE JFOREX (DUKASCOPY): 1.13783
14/10/2015
OPEN PRICE MCFX (FXCM) : 1.13814
OPEN PRICE DAILY FX (FXCM): 1.13785
OPEN PRICE JFOREX (DUKASCOPY): 1.13781
CLOSE PRICE MCFX (FXCM) : 1.14825
CLOSE PRICE DAILY FX (FXCM): 1.14736
CLOSE PRICE JFOREX (DUKASCOPY): 1.14740
9 PIPS BETWEEN MCFX AND DAILY FX .....with same datasource FXCM
AND so on....
DailyFX.com (FXCM) and JForex (DukasCopy) have very similar data .....while MCFX (FXCM) is very different
I don't understand why...
Can you check these data please?
Bye

Re: MCFX data
My observation is,I have been studying MC for 2 weeks...but I have been studying Forex on MT and JForex for years...Why??
no two forex quotes are ever consistently the same.
This has nothing to do with MultiCharts. It is just the nature of the open market forex trade.
Re: MCFX data
I know this....but 1-2-3 pips of difference is ok ....but 12pips ...are too much...
Furthermore:
1) DailyFx.com has online charts of FXCM.......MCFX is FXCM .....the difference in quotes is not
justified
2) IQFEED...DUKASCOPY...FXCM (on DailyFx) are 3 different datasource but the price are consistent...variations of 1-2-3 pips is ok.....only quotes on MCFX are so differents.
3) I have reported only 3 days...but there are many daily quotes completely differents (more than 12 pips).
There is a big problem of data reliability...
Have you ever noticed that inconsistency??

Re: MCFX data
Hello dario,
In most cases data is different from vendor to vendor. "MultiCharts Forex Data" is retail spread FXCM data stored on our servers. We do not have any information regarding the FXCM data streamed by the other vendors/available in the other applications and we can not guarantee that it will be the same as "MultiCharts Forex Data".

I write on top ...Have you complained to DailyFX and told them that their quotes are no good?

Re: MCFX data
Hi Henry MultiСharts thanks for the answer...
I thought that maybe it could be a problem of settings...sessions...of the instruments,
what do you think about?
When I set MCFX datasource I don't set any change in the instruments, I gave the default settings for good...maybe I do something wrong.
Bye

Re: MCFX data
I have checked in again on MCFX data again a couple of days ago and was pleasantly surprised to see that it now is a (almost) non-marked-up spread data (=what you can see on their site).Hello dario,
In most cases data is different from vendor to vendor. "MultiCharts Forex Data" is retail spread FXCM data stored on our servers. We do not have any information regarding the FXCM data streamed by the other vendors/available in the other applications and we can not guarantee that it will be the same as "MultiCharts Forex Data".
However, the speed of updating/ quantity of "ticks" is very, very small. Probably, the same, as on their web site. Uncomparable at all to their "retail spread" data still streamed in full.
What's the intended use of MCFX data? Historical data for backtesting only?

Re: MCFX data
Unlike stocks, options, and futures there is no central regulated forex exchange that has one universal price for all. In some countries forex trading is totally unregulated. Why there is so big difference among data in MCFX (FXCM) , DailyFx.com (FXCM) and JfOrex (DukasCopy)....
I don't understand why...

Your question as to why different brokers have different prices is like asking why physical money changer shops around your town would have a variation in rates they display, they do it because they can, that is how they make money.
Forex brokers are also notorious for manipulating spreads on selected traders (they have bot that data mine your trading style) as they have the ability to target specific traders by manipulating spreads to generate more money for them.
This is unlike regulated exchanges where the identity of the trader is anonymous. If you want consistent prices without spread manipulation by your broker on a central regulated exchange, trade currency futures instead of forex pairs.
