Is it possible to send manual TS orders to MC/IB?

Postby 4trading » 17 Dec 2015

Is it somehow possible to send TS manual orders to MC/IB?

I would like to double up on my size next year but wish to split my broker risk.

Can you elaborate a bit more on what you want to do?

Yes I suppose, by writing the orders in TS to a file and then having an automated trading strategy in MultiCharts read that file (with ADE or the ELCollection) and submit the orders based on the file's content.

I don't know if the other way around is possible, but sending orders from MultiCharts to TS and to IB seems less error-prone to me.

I am not automated and I like my broker risk to be split so I have margin accounts at TS and IB with accounts near equal size.

It would be great if I could manually enter orders in one platform and have them duplicated in the other platform. I realize some limit orders will get filled in one platform and not the other, then I'll just cancel/replace with a market order assuming the trade signal is still intact.

I just got a lead on RT Soft, but I am not entirely automated so I am not sure if that would work. Since my trading has been working well, I have been less motivated to automate 100%. Perhaps in 2016. :)

Yes, that's kind of what I was thinking might work too. Thanks.
