OEC Error:Your subscription limit of 10 has been reached

Postby DaveAronow » 08 Feb 2016

I have been getting the error "Your subscription limit of 10 has been reached" alternating with
"Your subscription limit of 5 has been reached" despite running only 4 real-time charts. I understand from OEC's support that MC uses the DOM for data so they increased my subscriptions to 10. However the error continues to be logged and today resulted in no data until around 1030 when OEC had an error at their end and the feed disconnected (on reconnection charts began updating).

Some questions:
1. I noticed in the strategy properties I have (the default I believe) set to "Get Real-time data from broker". Could this be causing multiple data streams to be opened with OEC causing the subscription limit error? I'll try changing this tomorrow and see what happens.
2. If this has no effect, what else could it be?

Dave

P.S. I pulled up last night's log and I found it does look like MC is connecting 12 times which would be 3x per chart. How can I keep this to a single connection per chart?

Updates - I changed the setting on "Get Real-time data from broker" to use data from the chart. I don't see as many connections to RT data however after an OEC disconnect the errors started again this morning and I had to close and re-open MC to fix the error. After closing and re-opening the same 4 charts I was fine.

This seems to be an issue with MC reconnecting to OEC. Has this issue been seen before?

Hello Dave,

What is the exact issue when you get this error message?

Basically once the errors start to occur, quotes stop feeding to the charts. So no more signals get generated.

I did not see this problem occur again yesterday after I re-started MC (I did not see any OEC disconnects either though). It happened first thing in the morning then ran all day without problems (but since there were no OEC disconnects I don't think it means the problem is fixed just that the disconnect didn't happen to trigger it).

Thanks.
Dave

Hello Dave,

This message should not affect the realtime data stream. If the limitation is hit then Trade realtime data is received from the status line. If realtime data has stopped on your end - please send us the logs via Help->Support->LogsCollector and specify in the Description field the instrument name and exact time when the issue appeared.
