PowerLanguage Programmers Guide in PDF format

Postby syswizard » 07 May 2016

I know what brought up before, but I have not been able to find the above for downloading.
It appears all of the documentation is in the WIKI at http://www.multicharts.com/trading-soft ... /Main_Page.
To create a PDF, it appears one must do a Create Book for each and every section of the manual....is that true ?

try searching Google for 'EasyLanguage' and 'pdf'... you'll find a ton of guides, tutorials, and references.

Tried that. I discovered that EL is a subset of PL.
So the EL PDF's are useless for the most part.
Also, I absolutely abhor online manuals....you can't highlight sections or annotate them.

When I click on "Create As PDF" at this URL :http://www.multicharts.com/trading-soft ... geKeywords
, I get this error message:

This is the digital age; you have to set your expectation accordingly. Most of the leading digital products only provide online manuals.

That seems to be true, unfortunately. I couldn't find another way when I also looked into this recently.
See first post:
MultiCharts User Manual (PDF)

But that's the platform manual, not a PowerLanguage reference manual.

Thanks Tony...but I am worried that PL has attributes, settings and other features not in EL.

TJ or Josh can likely speak better to this, but I believe there are limited differences. If you're new to PL, I believe this resource will be more than enough to get you started. Little subtleties are something that can be researched if / when needed for more advanced uses.

That's not acceptable IMHO. I can't review the materials offline.
The real issue here is the "Create Book" feature of the website is broken.
It almost appears as though Multicharts technical management disabled it on purpose.

Hello syswizard,

Please try again now. I was able to successfully create a PDF file with the keywords.

Could you upload that PDF?

Like syswizard, I also couldn't create a PDF from the wiki. After adding each PowerLanguage keyword category separately to the book, I got an error when the wiki needed to render to PDF:

It was not working several days before. However, I tested it just now and it seems to be working. Is there a way to download the 1000+ page manual? It is so troublesome at the moment.

I have converted the prebuilt CHM file with all the reserved words that comes with MultiCharts 10.0 Beta 1 into PDF format. Compared to the book created by the Wiki it has hyperlinks but is missing the categories. Please see the attached file.

You mean the user manual of the platform itself? That one can be downloaded here: https://www.multicharts.com/trading-sof ... Manual.pdf
