Wrong candles of 6 months ?

Postby Automeq » 07 Jun 2016

Enclosed are the print screens of 6 months candles.

I have database since 2006 so I started to build it to the year of 2007, starting from 1/1/2007.

I was expecting that first candle of 6 months would end on 30/6/2007 (6 months). However, in the chart you can see that it is ending on 31/5/2007.

The one starting on 1/2/2007 is ending on 29/6/2007

The one starting on 1/3/2007 is ending on 31/7/2007

The one starting on 1/4/2007 is ending on 28/9/2007 (note the jump from 31/7 to 28/9)

Why is this happening ? Not only seems illogical a 6 months candle to start on 1/1 and finish on 31/5, but also I see these jumps when they should not happen.

Hello Automeq,

What exact version and build number of MultiCharts are you running? (in MultiCharts go to Help tab-> About)
Please send us the workspace and export of instrument data in QMD format to support@multicharts.com

Version is MultiCharts64 Version 9.1 Release (Build 12010)

I can't send the instrument because qmd file is 38mb. However I sent you the dropbox link where you can download it. Is this OK for you ?

Hello Automeq,

Thank you for the provided information.
We have replicated this case on our end and forwarded to the development team.
At the moment the fix is targeted to MultiCharts 10.0 Beta 2.

If that's the case please let me add something. If a month end on a Saturday, please make sure that the candle closes on that month.

I'm referring this because the candles of 2 days take into account calendar days and not trading days (which means Saturday and Sundays are considered):
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=49676&hilit=automeq

In these candles of 6 months (or other) we should not jump to the following month if a specific month ends on Saturday or Sunday.
