IB Bitcoin Mapping

Postby gpw797 » 15 May 2018

I am having trouble getting IB bitcoin futures to chart and trade in MC. I have IB permissions and trading and charting works fine in IB TWS. When I try to chart an instrument I get a no data error in MC. See attached snip of the instruments in the Quote manager

Hello gpw797,

Please go to File->New->QuoteManager window. Check the messages in the Event Log.
Attach a screenshot of the messages for the data requests for these symbols.

Attached are screenshots of QM errors and a shot of my IB account market data permissions. I will also add that I have been trading Bitcoin futures with IB but entering orders in TWS and it works fine.

3rd image is MC screen showing an open position but no data in charting area

gpw797, according to the Event Log messages coming from the API - you do not the required market data permission for your account to access this data. If you have the data in TWS – it does not mean the same data is enabled for the 3rd party apps access (MultiCharts). You need to contact IB directly and ask them to add support for the required market for your account for the 3rd party applications. Please also keep in mind that the delayed data from IB is not currently supported in MultiCharts.
