Low cost data

Postby Scriver » 01 Aug 2018

Hi

At the moment I use Oanda and LMAX for data.
But I will like to hear if you have some other and better data provider, people will recommend.
I don't have space (financial) to pay a lot of money for data.

Thank you.

What is wrong with LMAX data? If you are trading with LMAX, it makes sense to use their data.

You might try IQFeed for forex. I have occasional bad ticks with their equities feed. Barchart.com also has good prices for data and it is very clean. Much better than IQFeed for back testing. IQFeed is much faster and more reliable for real time trading.

There are several "fintech" startups that provide cheap/free historical data if you use R or Python. It is not difficult to get that data into Multicharts with a bit of reformatting. It really depends on what you want to do.
