Recommended Data feed for US Stocks

Postby champski » 19 Oct 2019

Hi,

I'm just starting to get back into using Multicharts. Previously I focused on Forex to test-out trading scenarios using easylanguage etc but this time I want to focus on US stocks within the NASDAQ, NYSE and Dow Jones.

1. Can anyone recommend the best datafeed which I can access for free (or very minimal cost)?

At this point I would like as much historical EOD data as possible (hopefully up to 5-10 years). At this point, the priority is for the longest time period of historical EOD rather than more detailed hourly/minute data over a shorter time period. Also, I need accurate volume, open, close, high, low.

I plan to test an algorithm over hundreds of stocks at any given time, so I'd prefer a direct feed rather than manually import from file.

Regards
Champski

Hello, champski!

If you need end-of-day data, then you can use Free Quotes:
https://www.multicharts.com/trading-sof ... ree_Quotes
The data is downloaded from the Yahoo Finance site. If the data is available for download as a spreadsheet on their website, then it should be available in MultiCharts as well. Volumes are also supplied by Yahoo.
The symbols for this data feed should be added manually:

About other data providers we don’t have any info, I’m afraid. Hope someone else will be able to recommend anything.
