Hedging position

Postby tradingest » 29 May 2020

Hi there,

how I can do hedging using easy language code.
Exists some flag or option to allow hedging?

For examples I want in the same candle close the previous trade buy and open the position sell. Is it possible to do this?

Thanks in advance

As far as I know hedging (long and short at the same time) is impossible in MultiCharts. There's a feature request for it here, but that one is unfortunately declined.

Hello tradingest,

Unfortunately, hedging is not supported in MultiCharts.

“I want in the same candle close the previous trade buy and open the position sell. Is it possible to do this?”
- You can use simple reverse order commands. Particularly, the SellShort command can be used for the purpose you described. This will reverse your long position to a short one.

Buy is used for entering a long position and closing the previous short one.
SellShort enters a short position closing the previous long one.
BuyToCover exits a short position.
Sell exits a long position.
