Slow startup

Postby NiC72 » 18 Aug 2020

This happens every morning:
# Start and login IB Gateway (OK)
# Start MC and get: "Message: HMDS data farm connection is broken:ushmds".
But IB Gateway shows that HMDS data farm is connected
# After about 3 minutes, a new popup: "Message: Connecting to TWS failure. Is the TWS software running and is it enebled for socket client? is firewal disabled?" and then MC start to download history.

After that everything works fine.
I have this issue in recent months.
Have the latest MC, IB Gateway.

Hello NiC72,

Please try to turn off Launch Trader Workstation on start in File -> Broker profiles -> Manage broker profiles -> IB -> Edit and QuoteManager -> Tools -> Data sources -> IB -> Settings.
Restart all MultiCharts components to have the changes applied.

Hello Svetlana,

"Launch Trader Workstation on start" is off already.
I tryed to use TWS instead of TWS Gateway, and it works fine.
So the problem must be TWS Gateway, but its the same setting in TWS.

Made it work with TWS Gateway when I cancel the loading workspace in MC and then open the same workspace again.

Now I see that data-farm is inactive when I open workspace and become active half a second after I get notified: "Message: HMDS data farm connection is broken: ushmds"

Any idea why?

Case solved

Postby NiC72 » 31 Aug 2020

Today it was a major update för TWS/TWS Gateway and everything work as it should.
The problem was obvious that the port has been changed by default, now uses "4002" instead of "7496".
