Cache Folder

Postby mojotrader » 15 Feb 2009

I just noticed there is a folder on my system named

c:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\TS Support\MultiCharts\Cache

that contains over 3GB of data in 1200 .sch files. Can I delete the contents of this folder periodically to remove many old files and to conserve disk and backup tape space? Most of these files are over two month old and they consume a lot of space.

Thanks,
~mojo

Hi mojo,

Yes, you can delete files in that folder.

In the upcoming version of MultiCharts this folder will be cleared automatically after all the data has been safely stored in the database. It will be used as a backup for all the data that MultiCharts is gathering. On closing MC, the data will be flushed into the database. If MultiCharts crashes or terminates its work unexpectedly and the data cannot be saved on closing the program, all this data will still be there in the cache file - to be flushed into the database on next MultiCharts start.

Regards.

How to move this cache directory to ramdisk?
