MC scanner & IB: The maximum number of tickers has been

Postby nuno-online » 03 Jun 2009

Can someone explain me why i have this message with IB:
"The maximum number of tickers has been exceeded. There are some tickers for which market data will not be displayed."

I opened a workspace with a scanner where i have insert 120 stocks
after that, this message was present.

IB limits each user to 100 quotes total. I think that is the SUM of MC + TWS quotes. I hate that too, I don't think we can even pay for more quotes, or I would. If someone knows a way around this problem, please post it.

you have to increase your volume/equity to get more quotes.

http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/p. ... entity=llc

All customers initially receive 100 concurrent lines of real-time market data (which can be displayed in TWS or via the API) and always have a minimum of 100 lines of data. After the first month of trading, the quantity of market data is allocated using the greater value of:

1. USD monthly commissions divided by 8
2. USD equity multiplied by 100 divided by $1,000,000 (rounded down to the nearest integer)
3. 100
