Can't download Freequotes from Yahoo

Postby Nick » 08 Jul 2009

Hi there I have not been able to download free quotes from Yahoo recently. I am using V5.0 Release. The symbol names I am using had worked in the past and are correct as far as I can see I have tried ^FTSE ^GDAXI ^DJI. (I use it for a longer term view of the indexes and am only trying to download daily data.

Any ideas? Posibbly the wrong url is being generated?

Here is a log snipet

Hi Nick ... on MC 5.0 beta 2, I didn't have success getting recent data to come through either with Free Quotes via Yahoo.

Then I tried the latest MC 5.5 beta 2.
At first it appeared not to bring in recent bars too. But then when going into QuoteManager, selecting the symbol, right click->Clear Cache, then back to MC and doing a Reload, that worked for me.
Tried it on each of your ^FTSE ^GDAXI ^DJI and had success.

Could be worth trying if you've not already.

Cheers,

bruiser

Thanks :D

To be honest I don't really want to install the beta just for this. Any official word?

On 5.5 beta2 I just had to hit "reload all data" for each chart, to make it work- no clearing of cache was necessary for me.

Guess I need to contact support though it does seem to be a bug in the release version? Currently I would rather stick to the release as I mentioned before.
